Venezia Lines

Venezia Lines is a high-speed passenger ferry operator linking the North Adriatic coast of Italy with numerous locations on the northwest coast of Croatia, and Piran in Slovenia.

As their name suggests, Venezia Lines sails primarily from the Italian port of Venice, while services have, in the past, run from Rimini and Bari. Operating their first trip in 2003, Venezia Lines is now a leading company in the Adriatic Sea thanks to the backing of Virtu Ferries; they have since carried over a million passengers between Venice and the northern coasts of Croatia and Slovenia.

Running from April to October, Venezia Lines can carry around 300 passengers per trip, and with crossing durations of between 2 ½ and 4 hours, depending on the route, they are by far the fastest carrier linking the North Adriatic's ports, averaging a speed of about 35 knots. The 2 ships are air-cushion vessels called San Frangisk and San Pawl, combining all the advantages of hover crafts and catamarans, resulting in higher speeds, lower fuel consumption, less wave-making and higher manoeuvrability owing to the significant reduction of water resistance.

Venezia Lines Customer Reviews

  • "Krazykebells"

Booking on line was very easy, and regular emails keeping you informed. On board the staff were efficient and friendly. Although there was a small problem with the vessel the crew keep us informed of what was going on and arrived just 30 minutes later. All in all a very good trip.

  • "Well managed and on tip, but slightly annoying sales during trip"

The ferry was fast, comfortable and on time and has a good cafe on board. Slightly annoying was that it also runs as a tour operator for tours in Venice, with an almost one hour long info and sales pitch via loudspeaker - while many guests clearly wanted to sleep. It would be great if there was a "silent" room, where normal ferry passengers could sit and relax.

  • "Amazing day to Venice"

Super fantastic day spend in venice thanks to the staff at Venizia Lines. Helpful/fun/proffesional guides! Captain of the ship and even staff on the ship so fantastically friendly and helpful! 1 bad point! The boat was freezing (11 degrees Celsius) with the AC blowing at full power. Everyone (guests) asked the staff to turn off AC system but nobody did!
