Venezia Lines

Venezia Lines is a high-speed passenger ferry operator linking the North Adriatic coast of Italy with numerous locations on the northwest coast of Croatia, and Piran in Slovenia.

As their name suggests, Venezia Lines sails primarily from the Italian port of Venice, while services have, in the past, run from Rimini and Bari. Operating their first trip in 2003, Venezia Lines is now a leading company in the Adriatic Sea thanks to the backing of Virtu Ferries; they have since carried over a million passengers between Venice and the northern coasts of Croatia and Slovenia.

Running from April to October, Venezia Lines can carry around 300 passengers per trip, and with crossing durations of between 2 ½ and 4 hours, depending on the route, they are by far the fastest carrier linking the North Adriatic's ports, averaging a speed of about 35 knots. The 2 ships are air-cushion vessels called San Frangisk and San Pawl, combining all the advantages of hover crafts and catamarans, resulting in higher speeds, lower fuel consumption, less wave-making and higher manoeuvrability owing to the significant reduction of water resistance.

Venezia Lines Customer Reviews

  • "Instructions need more clarity "

Have purchased the tickets online no problem we then had to walk to a carpark to have a circle put around our name then walk back on ourselves to ' Check in ' you really need to stop having folk walk to the large carpark only to have them check in else where its utterly pointless. On a happier note the guides where absolutely fantastic so well done to them two. 👏

  • "Absolutely wonderful"

The ferry from Porec in Croatia to Venice was fantastic. Very well organized, comfortable and helpful. Many languages were spoken. We were offered a full tour service of venice during the boat trip which we took. This was also extremely good. As our time in Venice was short, the tour made sure we didnt miss the important things like a Gondala ride and a boat trip down the Grand Canal. I cannot recommend it highly enough. t highly enough.

  • "Bumpy"

Ride was fine but quite rough on the water. It's a catamaran that goes fast so it bumps regardless of how calm the seas are. I needed dramamine. Slightly late arrival
