  • "Joy Lines was great, Direct Ferries…. Not so much."

Direct Ferries provided us with a faulty ticket/boarding pass. Our original booking was confirmed (both outbound and return) and the full amount was charged. Our outbound trip was fairly painless (even though the port authorities were a bit confused of our printed boarding pass we received from Direct Ferries). However, once returning from our destination, we noticed that our boarding pass only included an outbound ticket, the return was marked as ”NA” and no return date nor time for the return could be found anywhere. This made everything complicating, since the Ferry company could not find our ticket for return nor any proof that we had paid for the return. They eventually showed us that Direct Ferries had not even confirmed our return to them. We had to screenshot every possible receipt and proof we had for our payment and reservation and contact local offices to discuss the issue (we were also on a tight schedule to catch our flight for the evening, which was the only flight back home for a week). Luckily, Joy Lines was very kind and assisted us through the whole complication, and ended up trusting us and that we had truly paid for the return and told us that they would try and solve this directly with Direct Ferries. So Joy Lines worked fabulously and the personnel was extremely kind and professional, I highly recommend traveling with them again. But thanks to Direct Ferries as a third party ticket provider and an apparent mistake in our Boarding Pass that they provided, we ended our holiday week on a stressful tone. Hopefuly this sort of mistake can be avoided in the future so that other customers do not have to suffer or stress with a similar matter we had to.
