DFDS operates fast and frequent ferry services across the Strait of Gibraltar, connecting Algeciras in southern Spain with Tanger Med in Morocco and Ceuta on the North African coast.
Formerly operating as FRS Iberia/Maroc, the company became part of DFDS following the acquisition of the Strait of Gibraltar routes. Today, DFDS combines FRS’s long-standing experience in Spain–Morocco ferry travel with its own wider passenger and freight ferry network across Europe and the Mediterranean.
DFDS offers crossings all-year-round for customers travelling by foot or with vehicles, including cars, motorbikes and motorhomes. The Algeciras–Tanger Med route links Spain with one of Morocco’s key ports in around 1 hour and 30 minutes, while the Algeciras–Ceuta service provides a fast connection to the Spanish enclave in North Africa in around 1 hour.
On board, passengers can enjoy comfortable amenities such as a cafe, shops and selected upgrades depending on the route, making FRS DFDS a convenient choice for both leisure and practical travel between Spain and North Africa.
