I have twice travelled with Balearia from Ibiza to Formentera. Once in 2015, and again this week. Each time was good service, and efficient. The only thing I would say is that we took the early morning crossing and there was nothing simple to eat for breakfast on board. We had a coffee, but some fresh croissant or something simple would have made a big difference. Chose Balearia for the crossing times / duration vs price and was not disappointed.

"a big thank you"
On our outward journey we accidentally left a bag in the seat pocket containing cash, credit card and passports!! We didn't realise until we got to our hotel to check in, Realising that the only place we could have left it was on the ferry both the hotel and ourselves contacted the ferry company asking them to check the area were were sitting in . Following a quick search we were told that nothing was found but a further search would be carried out once the ferry had docked back in Ibiza. We subsequently received a call to state that they had found the bag and that it would be on the next trip of the ferry back to Formentera. We were reunited with the bag with contents intact a couple of hours later. The crossings themselves were comfortable and easy going.Read More Read Less

As there are such a large number of ferries that run this route on a daily basis, with up to 88 a day, there is no one exact ferry timetable. The number of ferries that run daily can change due to a number of factors, such as what time of year you are travelling, but on average, there are 31 ferries a day run by Baleária, 28 a day by Trasmapi, 8 a day by Aquabus, and 21 a day by Mediterránea Pitiusa, so there are plenty of ferries to choose from when making your booking.
Again, the number of different ferries that run this route means that there is no one specific price for the ferry, especially as fares can vary due to a number of factors, such as what time of year you are travelling and how you are travelling, either by foot or with your car. We therefore recommend checking out our fare finder tool, to find the best price for your route, and be sure to sign up to our email newsletter to be the first to hear about our latest deals and offers.
Sail times can vary not only due to which ferry company you are travelling with, but also which ferry you are travelling on, and what the weather conditions will be. On average, sail times can vary between 25 minutes, to 40 minutes, but Direct Ferries will always try to give you the most accurate information when you book, and be sure to ask before you board what your expected sail time will be.
There is a whole range of different ferries available on the Ibiza to Formentera route, such as the small and sleek ferries that are run by Aquabus, which give amazing views, or the bigger, more spacious ferries run by Trasmapi, which can also carry cars. Indeed, even the huge range of ferries that are run by Baleária offer a comfortable and relaxing ferry experience, and their new Eco Fast Ferry is the pride of the fleet, using the most environmentally friendly options such as solar powered chargers, making it a ferry experience that is not to be missed.
