Scandlines operates 2 short distance, high frequency and large capacity ferry routes between Denmark, Germany and Sweden.
Symbolising the unity of the 3 nations, the different colours of the brand logo denote the countries that link the Scandlines route network in the southern Baltic; the yellow stands for Germany, red for Denmark and blue for Sweden.
From its humble beginnings as a short ferry link between Funen and Jutland in the 19th Century, Scandlines now operates 90,000 departures on 12 ships each year, transporting 15 million passengers, 3.3 million cars and 900,000 freight units in that time.
On-board each vessel you’ll find enticing dining options on all routes with something for every taste and every budget available. The ferries’ shops offer a wide range of spirits, wine, tobacco and sweets, as well as a special section for perfume and cosmetic products.
It’s worth noting that in 2012, Scandlines sold its Swedish routes in the Baltic Sea to Stena Line.

"Efficient & Effective"
As first time US users, very glad to have researched and pre-planned our travel from Hamburg to Copenhagen which led to using the the Directferries service and the Scandlines ferry. The Directferries website was clear and easy to use; all requirements, representations and transaction information were thorough and accurate. Anticipating the 45” ferry crossing to be via a utilitarian vessel, a very pleasant surprise regarding all aspects of the Scandlines’ ferry, e.g., multi-deck outdoor seating, snack bar and restaurant, bright and airy interior, an airportesque duty free shop, clean facilities, etc. From start to finish, exceeded expectations.Read More Read Less
