Operated by Stena Line on the Holyhead Dublin route
The Stena Superfast X is a recent addition to the Stena Line family on the Irish Sea. Previously known as Dieppe Seaways operating on the English channel, the Stena Superfast X went through a full refit to modernise and upgrade all aspects of the ferry before being put back into service for its capacity of 1200 passengers to enjoy. Spread across 10 decks, the onboard facilities are of a high standard and include 2 cinemas, coffee house, bar and grill, shopping centre, deluxe cabin accommodation, a premium lounge, a family lounge complete with children’s play area and x-box stations, plus much more.
Onboard you will find two types of cabins - Comfort Class and Captain Class. All cabins are fully equipped with a desk area, en-suite facilities with a shower and are ‘sea view’. If you don’t wish to book a cabin selected seating is available thought out the vessel.
Indulge in a delicious meal at the Metropolitan Grill, the extensive menu offers a range of tasty hot food, such as gourmet burgers, the signature dish of fish and chips or lighter snack options such as jacket potatoes with a filling of your choice. A children’s menu is also available.
If you fancy a drink onboard head to the Metropolitan Bar to relax and watch the big screen TV, whilst having any one of the range of continental beers and wines offered.
To experience even higher levels of luxury you can upgrade to the Stena Plus service, which includes express boarding and disembarkation, gains you access to the Stena Plus Lounge which is now four times bigger than any other lounge they have offered before, complimentary drinks, snacks, newspapers, comfy seating and waiter service.
There is also Wi-Fi available through the ship.
Stena Superfast X is a wheelchair friendly vessel, with two berth outside cabins made for easy access for standard and motorised wheelchairs and accessible lifts to and from the car decks.
Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Stena Superfast X guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

"Good service"
Bit confusing as to whether terminal 1 or terminal 2- said terminal 1 on email. Journey was fine if a bit long- staff friendly and helpful

"Great service in difficult times"
Considering we missed the outward trip due to traffic and had to change then home trip due to a funeral the staff were always helpful - even when the new home trip was cancelled due to a fault - we were kept informed.

" Smooth crossings"
Booking and trip from Holyhead to Dublin and return was smooth from beginning to end. We had to amend the booking - no problem. Booked premium. The Stena plus lounge was comfortable, the staff professional and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely use this service again.

"Irish music weekend "
The ships were great, very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Disembarkation in Dublin was a total shambles mainly due to the ridiculous port access and egress system, it took a whole hour to get into the port tunnel after docking.

"Lovely trip"
Both sailings to and from Eire absolutely wonderful with services first class. Only negative is to do with fellow passengers, staff need to walk around and to have authority to make people not lye on seats or taking up extra for bags etc as warnings over tannoy are totally ignored.

Calm seas and a lovely comfortable journey. Lovely food in the restaurant and clean toilets. My aunt tripped over and hurt her head on the return journey and the staff were swift and attentive to ensure she was safe and well.

"Good all round"
Not sure what to say, it all went smoothly, Direct Ferries had a 25% discount on Stena prices and it all went excellently, we went straight on as they had our number plates, there was some waiting to get on board and off again but no more than expected

"Hard to contact"
A no hassle booking but trying to get in touch with direct ferries is a nightmare. The wrong contact number on line even Stena had the wrong contact number. I had to change my homeward journey at Stena services on my outward sailing. Brilliant staff. Stena 5 stars direct Ferries 2 stars

"Very good "
First trip from Hollyhead to Dublin on the ferry, it went very smooth and easy! Made reservations online, we are from US. They said be there one hour early, we were and were loaded on ASAP. Nice ship 9 story’s high. Good dining’s opportunities and lots of space to relax. Very good experience with ship transfer and crew, love to do it again.
