Superfast VIII is one of the largest and most luxurious ferries in the Stena Line fleet and promises a high level of quality, comfort and service. The Superfast VII provides the best ferry experience on the Irish Sea with numerous facilities including a Nordic Spa, the ‘POD Lounge’, a chill out Living Room, ‘Taste’ dining area, free Wi-Fi, free movies, Curious George for the kids and the exclusive Stena Plus Lounge.
Due to the short crossing, cabin accommodation is not available on the Superfast VIII however reserved seating is available in the Stena Plus Lounge. Stena Plus offers a range of comfortable leather seating including sofas and sofa chairs on two levels, so you can find the area which is just right for you.
In addition to seating, passengers who travel in the luxurious Stena Plus lounge can enjoy waiter service and choose from a premium menu which includes a range of speciality seafood dishes and old favourites. So you can simply relax in your seats and order meals at your leisure.
The all new quick food experience ‘TASTE’ serves a great selection of fresh and tasty meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s something to suit all tastes and complimentary refills on tea and coffee while in the Barista Coffee House and Bar you can savour a range of Italian Coffee or a tempting snack.
The Superfast VIII shop offers a range of gifts, jewellery and fragrances with prices on average 40% cheaper than the UK high street.
Chill out in the onboard ‘Living Room’ and enjoy complimentary magazines and all the latest news on 70” plasma TV screens.
Visit the ‘Pure Nordic Spa’ for a dip in the Jacuzzi or sauna to ensure you arrive rejuvenated and revived (only available to Stena Plus customers).
In the new concept POD lounge you’ll find an interactive zone with all the latest in technology including iPads, Xboxes and surf stations and a futuristic living digital display on the floor. There is also free Wi-Fi in the lounge and throughout the vessel.
If that isn’t enough to keep you occupied during your trip then sit back, relax and enjoy one of the free movies in the onboard cinema!
The Stena Superfast VIII features a Curious George™ themed play area with soft play corner providing a safe and fun environment for children. In addition to the soft play area, there is a children’s cinema and an interactive zone with touch screen technology meaning there's lots to keep young ones occupied. And for parents peace of mind there is a seating area close by to relax and keep an eye on the little ones!

"Relaxing and smooth"
Both ships clean and plenty to keep you occupied on crossing, we travelled in the hygge lounge...comfortable reclined seats in a private lounge for those who don't want to sit in a restaurant or pub on the way over...staff were all pleasant and helped you with any concern you had. Would recommend Stena Line for this crossing.

"Late but otherwise fine "
Late sailing & no info provided as to why / length of likely delay while we waited. Actual sailing & ferry were fine. Food in lounge just ok.

"Belfast to Cairnryan and back."
Having just made the above journey both ways, I can say that I have thoroughly enjoyed my trips. The organisation and professionalism of the drive on and off the ferry was first class, plus the hospitality on board was excellent.

Took my car from Cairnryan to Belfast. Check-in , boarding and disembarkation was really simple and efficient. I bought a priority ticket and access to Stena Plus Lounge. Weather was good and sea conditions very calm. Great way to get myself and my car into Ireland

"Comfortable crossing "
Booked on board meal and was fully satisfied by range and quality. Had one free refill of coffee whilst sitting on in Taste restaurant reading my novel. Staff were friendly and interested in how I had enjoyed my meal. Made use of the reasonably priced WiFi fellow passengers were well behaved. Journey passed quickly it seemed to me. Sailing was delayed 50 minutes due to P & O being off: quite understandable.

"Return journey "
Everything was fine except there was a mix up with the times of our return journey. We had on our ticket 11:30 crossing but it was registered as 15:30 and Stenaline said we probably couldn’t get on. We did manage to get on the 11:30 but after a bit of an anxious wait to see if they could fit us on.

"Great way to travel to Ireland "
Had a fantastic experience sailing with Stena Line. The only downside for us that we have to travel so far to the port. Apart from that the staff were brilliant, good choice of things to do while your passing the time, and I would love to sail with them again

Literally the first time I’ve been on a ferry and haven’t felt seasick - made a pleasant change. Also nice to have plenty of space to myself, all the facilities and refreshments I could want for a two hour trip and a smooth experience all round. I thought the staff were relaxed and friendly and really can’t find any fault with the trip whatsoever. Smooth, fuss free and abundantly well catered.
