"Great sailing experience"
I am not a good traveller so booked a (superior) cabin. Very well equipped with free coffee, water, tv, usb ports, toilet and shower. Very stable crossing - no seasickness!
"Excellent trip"
Just got back from a trip to Ireland for a family reunion and my first time on Stenna line and very impressed. When we booked in they prioritised me to a quick lane that would put us near the lifts ,which was carried forward on our return trip. Boarding was was very quick and efficient as was disembarking. It was a very calm day and crossing was very peaceful. The Ferry was very clean and had plenty of seating, didn't purchase food but looked nice what I saw. The only downside was the Hagg lounge ,which had the reclining seats, the aircon was to low and it had a very noisy door which ment everything some one went out or in, which for some reason was every 2 mins there was a loud bang which woke me up which nullified the point of getting some rest. All said I would definitely travel with them again, maybe book a room.
"Amazing but short Trip "
You will never realize that the trip is coming to an end before the ship reaches shores
"Pleasent sailing"
We prefer to sail than fly from England to Ireland. A pleasing experience from beginning to end. A less stressful process than security at airports, and less waiting around. It works out cheaper than flights to bring our car and family. The ship is great, entertainment for my kid, good food and comfortably with pleanty of space for everyone on board.
"Good trip "
We had a great trip, good calm crossing, we didn't use too many facilities but we did use the sky bar, bit expensive but the Guinness was good, then we used the Hygge lounge, was ok but too many people snoring, including my travel buddy. It was all in all, a good trip
"Dublin to Holyhead"
Generally the ferry worked well - facilities were fine, crossing smooth, duration as expected. However, we did have an issue whereby we were told through direct ferries that the ferry was going to be at 16.30 rather than 14.45 which is the time we'd booked and received official email communications etc. from direct ferries, checked the sailing update on the day of departure and it said 16.30. Then at about 12:00 on the day of sailing I had a text reminder that said the ferry would depart at 14:45, I phoned up and was told (after some time) that that was the correct time and the 16:30 was wrong. Then had to make a dash to get to the ferry. If I hadn't rang up/got the text I would have missed it. Therefore marking the ship punctuality down (but really was a communication issue).
"Nice journey"
Really nice journey, lovely ship. The only issue is we were sent multiple messages to inform us of changes to travel times that were confusing and nor correct!
"Return crossing to Dublin"
The entire return crossing was so relaxing and comfortable, the staff were excellent and the facilities were also excellent. Much less stress free than flying.
"Dublin crossing "
Ferry very clean and comfortable staff friendly. Food was excellent and good value for money. Will travel this way again so less stressful than flying.
"Do Not Use Direct Ferries"
After the initial nightmare of trying and failing to amend my booking I was informed by Direct Ferries that the changes had been made, when returning from Dublin, I got to the ferry only to be informed that the changes had not been made and that I had to pay over £30 to get home, the lady at the Stena Line desk said that she gets this all of the time with Direct Ferries and that they should be avoided, book direct with Stena
"Happy "
Have not done boat for years loved it good price loads of rooms nice staff
"Book direct not with these guys"
Direct Ferries is crap. Stena are good. I paid for the extra cover via DF but couldn’t actually make changes within sensible timescale and the changes were not free. Just book directly with the ferry companies would be my advise. Otherwise, these guys have nothing to do with the actual crossing so the review is just for their booking service, which, as I’ve said, is basically rubbish.
"Easy travel "
Getting the ferry to Ireland taking our car was so easy, as soon as we pulled up to the booking area we were addressed by our name and directed onto the ferry. Then a short walk upstairs to the very clean and well presented ship, good facilities throughout. Would definitely travel on Stena ferries again. As the Irish like to say, “no bother”
"Remembrance Trip"
I recently booked on the Stena Estrid from Holyhead to Dublin for a Family History Trip to Enniskillen. I was very impressed with the morning trip in choppy seas. I am not a great traveller in those conditions, but I hardly noticed them. The food, drinks and snacks were in plentiful supply and the whole crossing was on time. The return journey was even better, smooth sailing conditions and a beautiful sunny day. The facilities onboard were excellent. We loaded and off loaded quickly in both directions. A very memorable trip.
"Impressed"
I was impressed by the service provided on my visit to Dublin and enjoyed the ferry crossing despite the pretty rough weather. The trip was comfortable, the timetable was adhered to and the transport arrangements from the ferry terminal at both Holyhaed and Dublin were ideal.
"Stena Estrid Late Night Crossing"
Stena Plus takes the stress out of travelling, very good facilities BUT on the night crossing they should dim the lights as it's very hard to get some rest with all the bright lights!!
"Our Trip Away Using Stena Line"
We normally fly to Ireland, first time using ferry. Cannot recommend Stena Line highly enough, will definitely travel with them again
"Dublin - Holyhead"
Irish Trip

Great experience
"Nice travel experience "
Had a very pleasant return trip with Stena Line on the Holyhead to Dublin route. Staff were very helpful and friendly and kind. The food was nice and serving size was just right.
"NOT pet friendly sailing . Definitely would recommend this sailing if you do not have a pet sailing."
Disappointed that our family dog had two choices (Stay in Car Alone ) although we were able to check on her twice each visit the vehicles around her had alarms going off she was extremely frightened and panting allot. Alternatively, there was metal kennels only 6 available. These kennels were located in the vehicle deck next to the noisy vehicle alarms. Paid a fortune for a pet certificate and horrified my rescue dog who is a gentle girl had to stay over 3 hrs alone in the car. In addition I was unable to lock my car as the alarm went off because she was inside. How can the short ferry to Isle of White have a designated area for pet owners on leads but Irish ferries do not. Staff were kind and helpful just the facilities for pets extremely unacceptable. Also it would be nice if there was a green dog friendly area for owners to exercise their dog prior to departure especially if there are delays.
"Holyhead - Dublin"
On time and served its purpose
"Good service; kids need help waiting."
Shame we had to wait, grateful for food voucher, but something needs to be provided for children who have to wait: would be easy to have some kids videos running in terminal and/or activity packs. Some poor parents had really overtired kids, which wasn't nice for other passengers either.
"nice clean ship "
A nice, pleasant journey on a very clean ship, staff were pleasant and helpful, catering first class I had no problems at all, everything went very well THANK YOU
"Dog kennel "
Extremely poor, dirty, felt gutted that I had to leave my dog
"Ok, but disappointed in ship change both journeys."
General facilities were clean enough, but very lacking in terms of childrens area or toys etc. We had a very rough crossing to Dublin and there was no motion sickness medication l/wrist bands available which made for a pretty miserable 3hours with 3 young children. The staff were very helpful the way back and having use of a cabin made it a bit easier. I was disappointed the ship was changed both times as a larger ship is more comfortable in rough seas and has more on board to do.
"Good wxperiy"
Good crossing - easy to find the car, easy to get to the facilities- no problems! 😊
"Calm crossing"
Very good coordination getting cars on and off the ship. Once on board we found seats quite easily. Boat was clean, plenty of food and drink available.
"Ireland trip"
Was ok wasn’t very happy that the ship was changed with out tell us. That meant they was very little for us to do with the kids on board which we had too with us no games room open and the kids room only had tables and chairs in with two wooden toys. Even the tv didn’t work.
"Organized "
Mum and daughters
"It’s very good "
Awesome trip ❤️
"Music "
The ship was grand, however there was an issue with the piped music on board, it was horrendous, I'm afraid not everyone one is into Hip-Hop, Rap and modern so called "music". Almost spoilt the voyage.
"Dublin"
Excellent trip. Signage at Holyhead could have been clearer. Loved the executive lounge
"Circumstances beyond your control ☹️"
Everything went smoothly from the check in booth operator greeting me by name to being boarded and parked up promptly and enjoying a welcome beer BUT it was too good to last but I had noted the tannoy call asking if there was a doctor on board! Then we were told that a passenger needed treatment and we had to wait for an ambulance to arrive so we waited and waited and eventually sailed two hours late and even though the captain did his best we were still an and a half late into Holyhead. I am a pensioner and can put myself and my family in that position but it begs the question that knowing the delay for an ambulance will be at least an hour why should the whole ship be hostage? Is there not a safe area ashore where an individual could wait for treatment or could you sign up for private emergency response? Apart from the delay, everything was marvellous, staff were great, food excellent and vessel very clean.
