"Quick and easy but not peaceful"
On the outbound trip we had paid for the Stena Lounge €30quid when booked through direct ferries and if adding it on to a non flexi ticket they charge an amendment fee, nice of them so it came to €72.50. The offering isn't great and it was still £10 for a sandwich. The lounge is located next to the movie room which was full of kids that were part of a travelling football team, screaming, shouting and banging was the tone of the journey instead of the billed 'relax in comfort'. I felt staff could have made a better effort to sort this or to have the adults in charge of the kids called to get them in order. The lounge isn't worth the money, same price as an airport lounge with less offering and less comfort. The ship was delayed on the return journey with it being due in at 6pm but it was nearly 8pm when we docked and then had to queue outside for passport control. I am a regular ferry traveler but this time it wasn't as comfortable or as enjoyable as usual.
"Good Crossing"
Nice clean ship.
"Great Service"
Outstanding assistance as a wheel chair user. Couldn't fault the direction and help given. Thank you made my trip really easy.
"Dublin to holyhead"
Great experience
"Nice travel experience "
Had a very pleasant return trip with Stena Line on the Holyhead to Dublin route. Staff were very helpful and friendly and kind. The food was nice and serving size was just right.
"Bad bad bad"
This boat was very bad there was no plugs to charge your phone and lots of rubbish on boat the boat driver must have been having a party because he didn't know how to drive a oat
"Horrible Experience "
The return sailing from Holyhead Dublin, on Stenna Nordica is one I would never wish to take again. There was drug taking happening all over the ship with Cannabis Joints being openly prepared in public areas, the Bar, Restaurant, Cinema and even on the stairwell. I’m in no way exaggerating when I say that there were at least a couple of dozen different people preparing and smoking cannabis on the sailing, both inside and on the outside decking. Staff on board were doing absolutely nothing to prevent this happening. There was also a serious amount of shoplifting taking place in the duty free shop. I witnessed staff deal with a couple of people but, I witnessed several other thefts myself where staffeither didn’t notice or didn’t bother. I have been sailing between GB and Ireland, several times a year since childhood and this was the worst experience I’ve ever had on a ferry crossing. It was intimidating and scary. My young daughter had an a anxiety attack and I had to take her outside to the top decking, away from what was going on and we remained there, outside, for the remainder of the crossing. Not good enough, not even close !
"Excellent Service"
I had trip with Stena Line and It was amazing trip.
"Rowdy riders"
Although the trip was relatively smooth sailing, the lack of crowd control and supervision of children by their parents made for a stressful trip. Because the earlier ferry was cancelled, this route was packed. Parents were letting kids run wild, falling, and screaming.
"Sailing to and from Belfast"
The sailing on the way to Belfast was very busy as the ship was changed and not the one we were supposed on it was a good sailing but not enough seating for everyone the food was not the best. The ship on the way back was the Stena Superfast and we had booked the lounge this ship was very clean has adequate seating and enjoyed the return journey
"Dublin to Holyhead trip."
Comfortable trip. Was not crowded - Monday pm. Staff polite and helpful. Received a message in advance that the service was running 30 mins late; sadly departed even later but we were not personally inconvenienced.
"Good service "
Really efficient and good service
"Great service"
Easy online booking, hassle free check in and the price of the ticket included lunch. What more could you ask for.
"Trip to Dublin"
My ferry times that I booked were cancelled, luckily Stenaline were as good as gold with information. Nothing From Ferries direct. I think I will book direct with the ferry co next time
"could be better "
from Dublin to Holyhead was great unfortunately on the way back we were on a replacement ferry and it wasnt good . the toilets had not been cleaned , but i didnt see someone go in later to clean them the lounge room smelt of cigarettes though the bar was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly
"Waterford trip"
Long time since I last drove to Ireland. But not so bad, very efficient service, the only boarding on miserable person was the barman in the bow very grumpy 😠 thought he was just having a bad day on way out. Seems he had another on way back 😃
"Ferry trip to Ireland"
Trip was comfortable, but to small many people were looking for a place to sit, the Stena Europe was more spacious, people were queueing at the bar, the shop was very poor compared to the Stena Europe.
"ferry service to eire"
exceptional service from on line booking to the performance from the line during our travels
"Not cheap. Too many operators with identical pricing all stating "Cheap" fares."
On the outboard sailing my wife had her bag lifted just before docking in Rosslare. Fortunately whatever lowlife lifted the bag didn't have time to fully check contents as bag was found by a passenger and handed in to the purser very soon after it went missing with thankfully nothing taken. TIP - Keep your valuables very close to your person! Liked the clear safety instructions from the captain. Would like to see some real discounts when advanced booking. Could have joined the caravan club which would have saved circa £50 but joining would have also have been £50. Certainly worthwhile joining the CC if more than one crossing is taken per year.
"Comfortable"
Great cabin. Punctual. And its great to have the flexi option.
"Pembroke to rosslare"
Not the best experience
"Direct Ferries never added my partner to booking"
I originally booked a trip for just myself but the day before I added my partner- I received an email confirmation from Direct Ferries to say she had been added to the itinerary and a message to say the extra traveller fee had been debited from my account. Next day I arrived at Fishguard ahead of the 13.10 sailing to discover that Direct Ferries hadn’t actually added my partner to the trip. Despite being kept on hold for 25 minutes by a DF customer service rep who eventually assured me their mistake had been rectified, Stena Line wouldn’t let my partner travel because the sailing was already over booked. We ended up travelling on the 23.45 boat later that night. An absolute shambles by Direct Ferries who never offered an apology for their terrible mistake, never mind compensation for abandoning my partner and I in Fishguard.
"Quick ticket"
While Stenaline sold us a big NO because every ferry would have been sold out for the same eveving and more than three days, Directline gave us immediate a ticket for the first ferry! Thank you very much! This differs us three days!
"Rosslare to Fishguard"
The check-in and boarding process was quick and simple. The crew were very polite and helpful and the journey was a pleasure.
"A bit expensive"
It was a very nice trip, very comfortable, my husbands food wasent nice the hamburger wasent cooked properly.Aldo I think £76 to change the time of our crossing was a bit expensive seeing it wasent overbooked.
"Very good"
One more duty free shop would be great :) otherwise for trip of 3 hours there is everything to enjoy journey.
"Rosslaire to Fishgard"
Happy with everything
"Great! 2 small spoilers"
The online booking process could not have been easier. On my return trip, I felt two little "dampners" bothered, but I could have just been tired. I found the tone at check in a little too snappy despite no queue or time pressures. Food was excellent and fairly priced at sea, however a small cup of tea @ €2.5 seemed a misplaced profit area. ( price for a small pot as a thirst quencher..too picky?) Uniformed staff were fantastic, professional and welcoming. Really commendable! Thank you.
"Ireland trip"
Staff and crossing was great, the only down side was the lasagna served at dinner time was tepid, the food should have been hotter for service, should be 65 degrees this certainly was not
"Problem-free trip."
No problems with booking, boarding or disembarking. Just fine.
"Recent trip to Ireland "
Travelled by motorbike. On and off was fast and efficient, and on both journeys a staff member secured my bike for me. Fantastic as I always struggle with doing that myself. Ferry was clean and comfortable. I had a hot meal going and just a sandwich and coffee on the return trip. Not great but OK and reasonably priced. Looking forward to my next trip. Many thanks. Jeff
"Excellent "
Went for the premium level, excellent staff friendly very helpful, no delays very efficient great experience would recommend to family and friends
"Great trip"
It was great, an enjoyable trip, reasonable price too.
