Operated by Stena Line on the Frederikshavn Gothenburg route
The Stena Jutlandica has excellent facilities to keep you occupied during the trip between Sweden and Denmark with a choice of bars, restaurants, the luxury Stena Plus Lounge, a kids club and an on board shop.
Due to the short crossing, there are no available cabins on the Stena Jutlandica but if you want to arrive all relaxed then book a reserved seat in the Stena Plus Lounge. In addition to a comfortable seat during your trip you also get priority boarding.
At the C-View bar and cafe you can relax and enjoy a freshly ground coffee as well as a choice of biscuits while the Cape Horn offers coffee and simple food and you can watch the big screen TV whilst enjoying your drink. At the Food City restaurant you can get both hot and cold dishes though you’ll need to book a table in advance to be sure to get a seat for the duration of the crossing.
During the crossing you can shop to your heart's content in the Stena shop. Here’s where you’ll find genuine bargains and a wide variety of brands, from paperbacks to the latest perfumes.
The ship has a baggage storage facility and at the information desk you can also purchase WiFi cards.
Next to the Food City restaurant on deck 8 you will find the kids play area where children can play, watch films and play computer games.
All facilities are located on deck 7 or 8 and accessible by lift. Passengers in wheelchairs have access to all facilities. Please inform Stena Line staff at the check in so they can attend to your needs and assign you a parking space close to the lift.
Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Stena Jutlandica guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

Great service ...
"Our sailing was moved to Holyhead"
We were due to sail from Fishguard but as the ship was overbooked we had to sail from Holyhead - we were travelling from Cornwall to Ireland so this added an extra 5 hours driving to our travel. We were offered a full refund - which we have still not received.
"Useful efficient ferry service"
The ferry route between Frederikshavn in Denmark to Gothenburg is a very helpful efficient service which allows travel between these two Scandinavian countries. Stena Line operates it seamlessly with prompt departures and arrivals and a good level of communication during the sailing. Ferries are a vital part of modern travel and it’s good to see them so prevalent in the Baltic region. We need more of these between the UK and mainland Europe!
"recent travel from Göteborg to Frederikshavn "
We had a perfect stay at the ferry. The ship is in good condition, the travel was just 3.5 hours and the weather was even nice - we had a great day!
"Easy and convenient"
I only basicly slept through the trip in a sofa so I don't know that much, but the night trip was a great way of going from Sweden to Denmark.
"Very good experience "
It was a great service a a nice journey . Thanks a lot!
"Great ride, wonderful restaurant!"
Great ride, wonderful restaurant!
"Nice ferry"
everything was good. only some notes: there should be an English translation for each of the announcements in the ferry. They were in Swedish or Danish mostly.
"Sedate and comfortable voyage"
Very pleasant and comfortable voyage. Staff were friendly and everything ran smoothly
"Don't book through Direct Ferries"
We had a good journey from Frederikshavn to Gothenberg but were annoyed at being charged more by Direct Ferries than if we had booked through Stena. The system took our initial booking for Saturday 21 July at an advertised lower price which was in fact for the Sunday. When we contacted Direct Ferries we were told we had to pay more to rectify this, even though it was not our fault. The girl admitted that this happened to other people as well. We will not book with them again.
"Stena Jutlandica 17 July 2018"
Loading and unloading very efficient and crossing was smooth. However there is a complete lack of facilities for refreshments whilst waiting on the dock side at Gothenburg and once boarded we found the catering did not open until sailing so we had no means of getting drinks for over 2 hours. Catering on board at the café and restaurant could be better. After being spoilt by the quality of food on the Danish and Norwegian ferries the selection of meals available in both café and restaurant was a bit disappointing.
"Will avoid in the future"
Very narrow car lanes. It was a warm, nice summer day but in the passenger areas it was freezing cold. Disturbingly loud announcements.
"My experience with Stena"
Better than flying.
"Easy crossing"
Straight forward crossing. Good all you can eat buffet - two sittings at most crossings. Worth doing on lunchtime. Book a reclining seat but you might have to evict a chancer who sits on it
"goog trip"
Nice ferry...very good trip
"Smooth crossing"
We enjoyed a smooth and efficient crossing, mainly out on deck.
"Enjoyed the trip"

"gothenburg to frederikshavn ferry"
spotlessly clean boat, plenty of open deck space and pretty good food at the buffet. Plenty to see as you head out of the estuary from Gothenburg
"Gothenburg and Frederikshavn "
Excellent trip. Nice boat. No delays
"Easy to book and use"
Although it was busy with many children running around, we were loaded on time, left on time, found great seats at the front, and arrived on time with no problems all the way.
"Good ferry trip"
Good trip easy loading and unloading. Pleasure to use.
"Superb"
Good transport 👍🏻
"Easy as"
Very easy to book and very easy to board. Immigration was a breeze and no problem with customs at the end. Quick and easy to disembark. English widely spoken and public address system used English.
"ferry crossing from Gothenburg"
nice start to our trip along the city and coast of Goteborg. The ship is beautiful, neat and spacious. It was not too crowded, plenty of seating. There was a cancellation of our departure, due to technical failure. We decided to take the later sailing which was properly arranged by Stena Line, without any additional fee. We were kindly helped in English. Reaching Directferries was another story, more than half an hour on hold and then lost connection, and we had expensive phone bills calling from Sweden! Really frustrating and annoying.
"Suspended trip"
Unfortunately our trip with Jutlandica the 21/7 was suspended due to a collision with another ferry. Thankfully Stena Line sent a text to me the day before so that we coult travel to Jylland from Sweden in another way. We had to find out on our own what happened to our paid trip though. It's all good now - at least we think so.
"Great trip"
Could not always understand directions, especially when to get down to the car. I really liked the way the cars were organized. We could find our way back easily.
"Busy but good"
Good ship. We didn't eat but judging by the large numbers waiting for the buffet seatings, many did. It was punctual and efficient and saved us many road miles.
"Travel"
Very nice trip. The staff was friendly! I recommend the trip to Norway.
"Good choice"
Everything was good, good service. However we were a bit irritated when we sat down and had breakfast, the staff removed our plates before we were done.
"Nice trip"
A very nice dinner buffet with fresh food and good service. What we would like is somewhere to keep your purchases from the shop during the crossing so you don't have to carry it around.
"Crossing Gothenburg - Fredrikshavn"
In June, I travelled on board the stena Lines ferry to Frederikshavn (car with trailer). Everything was well cared for, and stena Lines had a ship that provided a lot of attention to the passenger. Good facilities and friendly staff. The trip was a pleasant one.
