Found on the south east coast of Greece, Mantoudi is a tiny village with a population of just under 2000 people. The ferry routes departing Mantoudi Port are to Skiathos, Glossa and Volos, other coastal resorts in Greece, with crossings ranging from 90 minutes to five hours. A nun will often provide a tour of the remarkable building; a highlight for many visitors is the courtyard which exudes an enticing scent from the abundance of beautiful flowers blooming around the vicinity. For a real immersion into the lifestyle, travellers are invited to spend a night in the dorms situated inside the building. It is possible to cover the entirety of the village by foot in just a day, so getting around Mantoudi is not a problem.
