Sete Guide

Sete, previously known as Cette until 1928, is a town in the Herault department in the Languedoc-Roussillon region in southern France. The town is a coastal resort and port that lies on the Mediterranean Sea coast and is regarded as the Venice of Languedoc. The town has two parts. The low-town is the location of the port and is criss-crossed by canals and bridges. The high town is located on Mont St Clair. Popular attractions with tourists in the low town are the pretty houses along the harbour , the canals and fishing. The Pointe Courte part of the town is also a 'village within a town'.
