  • "Smooth crossing"

Only point to make was that if taxi driver hadnt dropped us off at the Bluestar ferries office in Kos in order to check in we wouldnt have known where to go. We would have gone straight to the dock which is a fair distance from where the office was. Ither than that we werent sure if you could just check in at the little ticket office at the dock. Dont think it says anywhere on the confirmation

  • "Piraeus - Syros"

Direct Ferries were efficient and helpful. Useful cancellation alert and rebooking service. Only issue are no alert for further cancellations and website travel alert tab doesn't have information on cancellations/alternative sailings for Greece. Blue Star Line and Blue Star 1 - Amazingly professional and smart as ever. Only issue, no cancellation/alternative sailings information on their website that I could find.

Rhodes Guide

The Greek island of Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese Islands and lies in the eastern Aegean Sea, to the north east of the island of Crete and south east of Athens. The island is also a short distance off the coast of Turkey. Rhodes Town is the island's capital and main town and its Old Town is a rich tapestry made up of different civilisations and cultures. The city's medieval walls, its fortress like buildings, the gates, bastions, narrow alleys, old houses, fountains and busy squares combine to make all visitors feel as though they have stepped back thousands of years. Outside of Rhodes Town the island has a number of small villages and beach resorts that are popular with tourists. The main ones are Faliraki, Lindos, Kremasti, Pefkos, Archangelos, Haraki, Koskinou, Afantou, Paradisi, Trianta and Embona.

From the island's port, ferry services depart to Piraeus by both conventional and high speed ferry. The island is also connected to the rest of the Dodecanese Islands, the Cyclades Islands and to Crete during the summer months.

The most visited places on the island are Alinda and Agia Marina but for the more adventurous, a drive around the island will not disappoint as there are a number of lovely beaches with crystal clear waters waiting to be discovered. The island is also popular with scuba divers who visit to explore the many ancient shipwrecks that lie on the seabed around the island.
