The Oscar Wilde is one of the most luxurious ships to sail between Ireland and the U.K. and with bright airy cabins, stylish lounges, a wide choice of entertainment and dining options, brings great levels of comfort. From the moment you walk on board you'll appreciate the luxury and will be impressed with what the ship has to offer.
There’s a range of cabins on offer; all are air conditioned, en-suite and above the water line with a choice of inside and outside. The reserved seat lounges are also fully air conditioned with blankets and pillows available from the kiosk at no extra charge and luggage storage lockers are also available. Lounges are accessible by lifts and stairs.
There’s no shortage of places to eat, drink and relax onboard the Oscar Wilde. Enjoy panoramic sea views while sipping your favorite drink at the Merrion Lounge or head to the spacious Gaiety Lounge bar at the rear of the ship for a relaxed and comfortable environment with live entertainment in peak season to suit all tastes - perfect for an after dinner drink. If you’re looking for somewhere for a quiet drink or even a pint, maybe with some live piano music then Oscars Piano Bar will be a welcome retreat. For a wide and varied menu in a relaxed ambience, the Left Bank Brasserie offers great value, and the opportunity to dine at your leisure whatever your mood. For something different but delicious try the Steakhouse whic offers a real choice of excellent tex-mex and steakhouse dining in a very relaxed environment. Named after the seaside town of Berneval-Sur-Mer in Normandy, the Berneval waiter service restaurant brings great food, service and fine French wines together in ways that will invigorate the palate. Alternatively, head to Café Lafayette and choose from a wide range of sandwiches, rolls, baps and light refreshments.
The shop offers passengers the chance to buy gifts and souvenirs for friends and family. You can pick up some great deals in fragrances, fashion and electrical goods.
Additional facilities include a choice of two cinemas, a hair and beauty salon and wifi (not free). During the summer season Cabaret is performed by troupe of entertainers.
The Oscar Wilde is children friendly. The Happy Prince Play Area is provided so that the younger ones can be entertained with films, games or simply playing amongst themselves.
The ship is wheelchair friendly with specially designed cabins available.

"RoundTrip pembroke rosslane"
Ship was easy to access and staff was friendly both onboard and at the port.
"It was terrible."
I was never on the ferry but the egit who keeps accidentally using my email was. Im sure it was lovely though .
"Fantastic, smooth sailing"
There is something for everyone on this ship. A great shop full of souvenirs, last minute purchases etc. movie theatres, food, bars. Very comfortable seats and helpful staff. Lifts worked well for my elderly mum. There is lots of space. The time went quickly.
"Holiday"
Wow i like it💝was amazing
"Clean sailing "
A straight forward service. Cabin on return journey was a bit dated and carpet and bathroom not overly clean. Return journey took longer than stated
"Good crossings "
Calm crossing np queuing getting on or off the ferry. Plenty of space on the ferries. Good soft play but some much older children were in there playing rough and unsupervised which meant smaller children had to leave. Older children have lots of other things they can do so this wasn't any good for parents with young children. Great range of food on the Oscar Wilde. Generally happy with the service.
"General management of service needs improvement"
Still can't believe it's expected to leave pets in the car or kennels. Car alarms going off during whole sailing which could be heard all over ship. No effort to find the owners made. Paid extra for club class but no reserved seats so better off in main cabin. This extra was also meant to mean first off in car. We were very front row but last off. Even after all foot passengers. Very poorly managed but I don't have much options. Also, £12.50 for a breakfast?!
"Busy, but fine"
The travel is fine. It is pretty packed at Xmas, and with 3kids we were lucky to get a seat. However, the cleanliness of the toilets was good ( it needs to be said). Pizza was good. We just refilled our water bottles in the cafeteria.
"Mixed Experience"
The Ulysses on 24th Dec departed early, sailed in calm conditions, arrived even earlier than scheduled and the disembarkation was a model of efficiency. By contrast on 27th Dec the Oscar Wilde sailed 15 minutes late and forecast an even later arrival, sailed in perfect calm conditions, arrived half an hour late and then took nearly an hour to disembark without explanation. Not impressed when faced with a further long journey.
"Does what it says. "
The ferry does what it says in reasonable comfort. Accommodatiion is comfortable and the refreshments are good, even if a little pricey. At the end of each leg, however, it took us more than 40 minutes to get off the ferry once it had docked. And we were by no means the last.
"Experience travelling "Oscar Wilde Ferry-- Dublin Port to Holyhead 27th. Dec."
Staff were particularly helpful and friendly at all points of contact--alongside and ashore ,on the car deck and also on the passenger deck. THERE WAS A LONG WAIT SITTING IN OUR VEHICLE ON THE CAR DECK(Over an HOUR) WAITING TO DISEMBARQUE.AN EXPLANATION AT THE TIME WOULD HAVE BEEN ENCOURAGING! There was poor signing at Dublin Port to the ship --WE WERE LOST IN OUR CAR AND HAD TO STOP AND ASK FOR DIRECTIONS REQUIRING US TO COMPLETE AN unnessesary DETOUR IN ORDER TO LOCATE THE SHIP AND QUAI----directions on the ticket would have been extremely welcome!!!A fear of getting lost locating ship is an impotant factor contributing to traveller anxiety -- NOT to be underestimating!!! Al things being equal I would travel with the Line that made life easy and gave full directions!!!
"1 hour and a half late; not great for pets"
It's all in the title. I don't know the cause of the delay but we arrived after 1 am when it should have been 23:30 into Dublin. More importantly for me, I took the ferry to avoid stressing my dog out with a flight. I booked a kennel thinking they might have decent facilities for dogs, but in reality it was just a handful of cages to lock the dogs in near the cars. My little terrier was locked in a small box for several hours adjacent to another dog barking in distress. I went to bring him back to the car because that would at least be a familiar environment but I wasn't allowed, I was told I had to keep him in the kennel. Not happy. I would think ferries would see pets as something they can do much better than planes but it seems not.
"Ferry crossing from Dublin room Holyhead "
The sea was choppy, but the ferry ride was very comfortable. It's an efficient service with friendly staff.
"Holyhead to Dublin and back again"
Great service - the ferries (Epsilon outbound and Ulysses return) were clean and well equipped (especially Ulysses). This was my first journey on a car ferry and the whole process was simple, stress free and well organised.
"Fantastic sailing both ways couldn’t be happier looking forward to my next trip"
Looking forward to my next trip ☘️ ferries were great great crossing both ways
"Ulysses "
Whilst the ship Ulysses was a lovely vessel and crew pleasant we did feel fobbed of regarding the cancellation of the 14.30 sailing. The weather was actually worse for the later sailing this being so we felt that the original sailing time was perhaps not cost effective to run hence the cancellation. Please be honest with customers we deserve that.
"Trip to Holyhead"
Very impressed with the ferries we travelled on recently and look forward to travelling on them again in the future.
"Cabin was great"
We booked a cabin at the last minute and it was well worth it. Very clean could have a shower and get some sleep. Would definitely recommend
"Tresponse "
Enjoyable experience on Ulysses Epsilon is more basic but the timings suit us
"Poor service"
We missed our outward ferry on the 27/10 as the digital signs were not working , booths were poorly lit and we queued in wrong lane. We had arrived at the port in good time but because of the reasons quoted we missed the 8.30am sailing and were stuck in Holyhead until the 14.30 sailing Our 14.30 return ferry on the 3/11 was cancelled meaning we had to get up at 4am to catch the 8.30 am out of Dublin A poor service all round
"Calm fuss free crossings"
Very happy
"my trip"
had lovely trip tp ireland to see my family on irish ferries it was so lovely and relaxing the staff were so friendly and helpful would highly recommend to anyone to travel with them
"Changing my return date."
we travelled back on the 'Oscar Wilde'from Dublin to Holyhead, nice ship arrived half an hour after they said it would due to 'tides' one would think they would know after crossing the Irish sea umpteen times every sea condition would be catered for and anticipated. My main issue with Direct ferries is the booking of the tickets . I will NEVER use Direct ferries to book ever again . i needed to change my ticket bringing the return date forward by one day . i used three telephone numbers endless hanging on. On day three of trying i finally contacted some one . the cost was £70 which is just outrageous....My recommendation to anyone contemplating this journey is book direct with the shipping line.
"Change of Times & Ship"
We booked on the Irish Ferries to sail at 1130 on the Swift for a faster crossing from Holyhead to Dublin. However the times of the sailing were initially brought forward to 1100 and then the night before the departure cancelled altogether because of the 'weather'. This was on 03 October and we were given a choice of either travelling on the 0830 crossing or the 1410. It is over 5 hours drive for us so it was most inconvenient. We were on a tour of Northern Ireland and arriving late in Dublin and driving to Belfast would have caused us a lot of problems with our pre-booked accommodation if we had taken the 1410 ferry. The crossing was smooth, the sea was like a pond. Not sure what 'weather' caused the cancellation. The 0830 ferry was less than 50% full so we are assuming it was due to passenger numbers. We returned on 10 October ahead of Storm Callum, the crossing was a little rough in places and yet none of the ferries were cancelled. On this occasion the ferry was completely full. It should be noted that if the ferry is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, there is no compensation payable!!! A great get-out clause for the company irrespective of all the disruption and/or additional cost to the passengers.
"Not the greatest experience."
Rather disappointed by the late information on cancelling the Dublin Swift. As it was originally scheduled for an 11.00 a.m. sailing, it was necessary to book B&B in Holyhead. With the cancellation of the Dublin Swift our booking was transferred to the cruise ferry, sailing at 2.30 p.m. this rendered the rather poor B&B a waste of time and money (£135 + dining out - £45) as we could easily have travelled to Holyhead on the day of sailing. The actual crossing on the Ulysses was fine. The return crossing on the Epsilon was acceptable apart from the limited shopping facilities and lack of a children’s play area for our young grandson.
"All very good"
Bed Mattresses bit worn & hard
"Excellent experience aboard the Oscar Wilde! "
This was a very comfortable crossing from Rosslare to Cherbourg. We had a spacious and very clean cabin. The price was very fair for both the crossing and the room. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Irish Ferries! My only complaint is that the description of Oscar Wilde's life was not very accurate on the panels that can be found throughout the ferry. There is no mention of the hardship he endured in prison or that he was persecuted for his sexual orientation. The panels portray a very superficial, one dimensional, and innacurate account of his life and literary legacy.
"1st time with Irish Ferries "
Boarding very straight forward , however cars are packed very tight as I had my car scraped up a side panel !!! Food in the Left Bank Restaurant very basic - room for improvement - ... we booked a cabin when we booked on line - we arrived to a very foul odor in our cabin .... however girl on reception moves us straight away with no hassle .... staff are very very pleasant & our sailing was very good ... will use this service again ... only downside was boarding in Cherbourg we were delayed , but no one knew why !!!
"Went too plan"
The ship and hotels where great .
"oscar wilde"
Lovely clean ship. Staff excellent. We had a two birth outside cabin which was really comfortable.
"Good service, nice staff, but operating to the wrong venue"
A good service with friendly staff, which makes all the difference. Friendly helpful staff on a clean ship, puts the customer's mind into a positive and therefore tolerant mind set, preventing them notice something that might otherwise make them complain about; thank you and well done. Only slight frustration is Rosslare is the bottom of nowhere......can this service run to Dublin so those of us living in the North of Ireland don't have that long frustratingly slow drive at the end of a journey?
"Irish Ferries Oscars Wilde"
I have travelled twice in six months on the Oscar Wilde and love her. Very comfortable clean and well laid out. Not too expensive for a captive audience.
"direct ferries from holly head to dublin "
we were very pleased with the way we were treated the information on booking was very clear, th e crossing both ways were smoothand enjoyable thank you
"Bad weather"
On our way to Holyhead we received a text message saying our ferry the Jonathan Swift had been cancelled and that we were booked onto the next ferry. I was delighted with the ease of this change in booking and the way it was handled. The same happened on our return journey too.The staff were efficient, courteous and very helpful. As a poor traveller I found both journeys to be comfortable and was reassured by the safety video/ instructions given before the journey began. Thank you
"late again"
