LD Lines axe Dover – Dieppe ferryDate: 1 Jul 2009 Source: Lloyds ListDover's newly opened ferry service to Dieppe is to be scrapped due to lack of demand. France’s LD Lines inaugurated the ferry service between Dieppe and Dover in February, in addition to a new link between Dover and Boulogne. But today the one-ship operation on the Dover-Dieppe route will be the last on that service. The vessel will continue to sail between Dover and Boulogne. LD Lines UK spokesman Nick Stevens said: 'It was hoped the Dieppe service would be popular with truckers but it is disappointing that there was not better support. However, the ferry will continue to operate on the Boulogne route carrying freight as well as tourist cars and passengers.' |
