  • "luxury liner"

I haven't travelled on a ferry for 30 years (France very basic and not too clean) but the high quality of Northlink ferries was amazing, I felt I was on a luxury cruise. Will recommend your ferries without hesitation.

  • "Great boat trips of the world"

It is amazing that £20 can buy such a slice of heaven on a boat. The transfer time is 90 minutes, and we spent the whole time on deck, just going from one "Wow" to the next. Because the boat sails at 7pm we were able to witness the sunset in all its glory over the beautiful Orkney Isles, and it was spine-chilling to sail in through Scapa Flow with all its submerged history. Stromness absolutely has to be approached from the sea - such pretty, wee gray houses seeming to tumble down the hillside to the water.
