Hakata Busan Ferry reviews

  • "Ridiculous Taxes (we were asked for and paid 3 separate amounts each)"

Before getting the boarding passes 1000 Yen in cash plus 1600 yen which I was able to pay by card, then after Boarding Passes were issued advise that another 500 Yen each was payable at a machine in cash for a small card. 3100 Yen per person. What are these three separate amounts about? Who gets the money, I’d love to know. As to the Journey there was a bit of “Rock and Roll” but Ferry handled it no problem

  • "Great"

Great, very straight forward! You are assigned a small shared room with a thin fold out mattress if you wish to sleep in a room of potentially about 10 people but there were only 2/3 other people in my room. There were plenty of seats across the ferry, a restaurant, vending machines with food and drink and even a spa! The top deck was also nice to sit out on. At the ferry port you do need to pay 2 taxes that amount to about 3000 JY but the ferry was very prompt leaving and arriving. I would use this service again.

  • "Smooth sailing, trouble in Port. "

I was travelling with my mother who is 78. Neither port seems to have special assistance. It would have been very useful to have wheelchair assistance to help us board and disembark. The journey itself was excellent. We had booked a deluxe cabin so that we could rest up. The cabin was comfortable and well equipped.

  • "Positive experience!"

I took Camellia Line from Fukuoka to Busan, and really enjoyed the experience! The cabins were nice and allowed for some rest, but there were also entertainment, food and even a japanese bath on board. Thank you!
