Fukuoka reviews

  • "Easy to use ferry South Korea to Japan "

Travelled overnight from Busan in South Korea to Fukuoka to Japan. Daily crossing - check in between 1600 and 1930, boarding 1920 to 2000, sails at 2230. Plenty of coffee shops etc at Busan ferry terminal, and a bank to change leftover Won. Modern terminal, pleasant enough to wait in. The New Camellia is about 15 years old and showing its age a little but clean. We had a deluxe twin cabin with en suite shower. Bed firm, but all fine, quiet enough. Dinner in restaurant on board from 2000 to 2050 - good selection of Japanese and Korean dishes. Buy meal tickets from the machine by the info desk on level 3. Arrives Fukuoka about 5.30, breakfast served between 6.30 and 7.30, disembark 7.30. Breakfast not worth bothering with in our view. Buses and taxis out front of Fukuoka ferry terminal. Buses 11,19 and 50 go to Hakata train station. Return crossing is daytime from Japan to Korea.

  • "Great trip"

A quiet evening/ night. Everything closes at 22:30. There's no bar and the food looked soso and expensive so bring water and food! You can use the microwave after the kitchen closes at 9pm ISH. There is a water opposite room 320 on 2nd class. The first class cabin is like p and o ferry economy window class. But comfortable and with space. The baths were fantastic.
