About Exuma

Exuma is a Bahamian district comprising almost 400 islands and cays, offering some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. A top holiday destination for many celebrities, the private islands in the Exumas provide complete tranquillity in stunning surroundings. Vividly blue water surrounds you wherever you go, which makes sailing, kayaking, snorkelling and diving popular activities. The capital and largest city, George Town is the financial hub on Great Exuma Island, with the Tropic of Cancer running straight through it. The town itself boasts picturesque architecture alongside a wide selection of shops, cafes and bars. From George Town, there are frequent ferry crossings provided to the energetic capital of the Bahamas, Nassau on the island of New Providence to the north.

About New Providence

New Providence is an island in the Bahamas, home to around seventy percent of the country's population who primarily reside in the vibrant capital, Nassau. Small, yet full of energy, New Providence is wonderfully chaotic, allowing your senses not a moment’s peace. But that’s all to be expected from an island once roamed by pirates and, albeit fictitiously, James Bond. Bustling markets and festivities on stunning beaches are commonplace, but there are plenty of options for those who need some downtime; fascinating galleries and historic sites can be found all over Nassau. The pirate museum offers an insight into the island’s swashbuckling history, whilst the enormous, ruinous Fort Charlotte affords lovely hilltop views and makes a brilliant day trip for families. Given the capital’s location in the heart of the Bahamas, New Providence is one of the nation’s travel hubs, with numerous ferries docking in Nassau all week from a number of Bahamian islands.
