• "Kiel/Klaipeda and vice versa"

  This ferry is a god-send for those travelling to the Baltic States with their own vehicle. It greatly reduces the amount of driving on some not very quick roads, and instead offers a very relaxing start or finish to your trip. Kiel is easy to get to on the German motorway system, and Klaipeda provides a splendid starting point for investigating what the Baltic States have to offer. The ferry itself is comfortable, immaculately clean, well-appointed with good food and drink options. It ran to time and loading and unloading was hassle-free. Highly recommended.

  I've used this route several times now to avoid the long drive through Poland. The ships used are now of a higher standard than in the past, with good lounges and bars. The cafeteria offers good value meals , considerably cheaper than other ferries I use. The cabins are clean and comfortable. Mainly carrying freight there is a bit of a wait to unload.

• "Kiel to Klaiped in winter"

  Sailed return Kiel to Klaipeda in January 2017. The port layout in Kiel is really odd and you have to pre-check in at the building with your passports and car documents. The car parking is a bit haphazard and I wonder why they cannot follow the example of other ports where you check in with your vehicle and car park / queue is better managed. The boat loading is also not as well organised as other ports and I had to make several reversing maneuvers as they had already loaded lorries on deck leaving too little space to turn down the ramps. It was the same on return. East Europeans don't like to queue and there is a mad rush although first on isn't always first off ;) Ship was clean and cabins were warm (almost too warm) didn't eat on board so can't comment on food. Ship ran on time. It is a fine service but could do with improving deck staff professionalism to German standards.
