"LA gomera day trip"
The ship was a very quick and efficient way for traveling to LA gomera for the day. The ship was comfortable and the catering was very good and all included with the oroclass. The only thing that let the ship down was the air conditioner in the hold class lounge was leaking a lot of water and there were some seats that were soaked.

I was surprised at how fast the shipment was and very well that the luggage is placed separately so as not to block the access routes inside. They also thought of smokers and have a special place for smoking. You can also stay inside where there is air conditioning and outside. I recommend visiting the Canary Islands by ferry.

The ferry departed and arrived 20 minutes late. But this didn't bother us as we had plenty of time to get to the airport. Pleasant crossing. Boat was crowded presumably because of the Easter holiday.

We have done this crossing before. Just take email confirmation to Fred Olsen Express desk. They enter passport numbers into their booking system. No tickets given and they swipe your passport just before boarding. That's it. On the return leg I went to the FO ticket office and they didn't want any ID as we were already booked in. It was so easy. The Benchijigua Express is a great fast ferry and worth the little extra than charged by the competition.

Many years ago we discovered the attraction of using our allocated two week holiday in the Canaries by first spending a few days on Tenerife (Los Cristianos) then boarding the ferry in the harbour to La Gomera for a week then returning and spending a few more days on Tenerife before flying home. The ferry crossing takes about 45 minutes and is thoroughly pleasant - free wifi and good cafe and shopping facilities on board. We don't find there is a need for a car on Tenerife but we ore book a car which we pick up at the harbour at San Sebastián on La Gomera. Some may feel this us all too much trouble - but do try it. The ferry crossing really couldn't be more straightforward. The cases are put in lockers on a Fred Olsen supplied "train" before you board the ferry and are easy cleated and then transferred to a hire car when you disembark - easy. Cannot speak highly enough if the service from Direct Ferries - cheaper and more convenient than booking direct with the ferry company.

Due to flight being delayed (10th April 2015) we were too late for our booking on the 14.00 crossing. Your staff transferred tickets for us to travel on the 19.00 to La Gomera. The lady in your left luggage office also 'phoned our car hire people in La Gomera for us, to change the arrangements with them. We thank everyone at Fred Olsen who took the worry away from us.

I found it easy to book these ferry crossings on directferries website. All that was required was to arrive at the ports at least 30 minutes before sailing time then join the queue present our passports for scanning - no paper no hassle!!

Enlightened from earlier experinces we rented a car this time for our trip to La Gomera. The alternative that our travel organiser offers is to move the luggage between two buses. This system is not very convenient if you as in our case are also bringing golf bags. However as mentioned earlier, with our own car we could enjoy the pool onboard which we couldn't on the previous trip. Great service on car dek.

Yes this was an excellent trip - both ways. Very smooth, no engine or other noise. Refreshments fine and plenty of very comfortable seating with good views of the sea etc. Loos very clean. Only one slight problem of diesel smell on the aft deck, outside, but I gather there are other decks with outside areas. Much better than the other company operating to La Gomera.

Had a very pleasant crossing from Tenerife to La Gomera. Boat left on time, was clean and tidy and staff were helpful. The only thing we felt could have been improved were the terminals which were quite basic and as we had arrived promptly, it would've been nice to at least been able to grab a cup of coffee. However, the refreshments on the boat were good.

The journey was very nice, the only thing is that the timetables of departure are a rush hours and with only two sailings per day. We decide to take the ferry departure at 19:00 hours for what we arrived very late to La Palma.

We booked the ferry trip on the Fred Olsen web page ono or two days before. For on-line booking you need to type in your passport number and car registration number (the same is with Naviera Armas). Since we did not know what will be the rented car number, I thought I will not be able to book on-line, however, there is possibility for on-line chat for any question. The response was fast, lady suggested to type in HIRE CAR and everything worked. Thanks again to their on-line chat possibility . I did send an e-mail to Naviera Armas before (their offer for 2 persons and a car is 5 EUR cheaper), but they did not respond at all). The Benchljigua Express ferry is really fast for such big boat (cca 127 m) and very nice. The staff was polite at loading and unloading, as well as on boat. The ferry has an open-air section out back at the rear and several snack bars with a lot of chairs and tables inside the passenger deck (1200 people could be on this boat). From Los Christianos we were to sail out on time, but on the back trip from San Sebastian we were 15 min late (ferry arrived from La Palma). Altogether we were very satisfied with ferry and definitely we will use it again.

The duration of the crossing can get drastically extended when it's very windy. Time of departure (La Palma at 5.30am) and arrival (11pm) are not ideal, especially because there is car rental near the ferry.

By pre-ordering of tickets on the internet it issue no waiting at the boarding pass, the ticketing was easy and professional. The supply and unloading the car was done in a matter of minutes without any fuss. The Fred Olsen ferry runs several times a day between Los Cristianos and San Sebastian de la Gomera. The check in for the ferry is very easy and fast. If you as a passenger without a car is on the way, but has baggage, this may in storage boxes (1 €) are deposited in a provided car. This car is then driven out by the crossing immediately and you can trigger his luggage again. The ship is very confortable with a large indoor area and a small outdoor area at the back. Wi-Fi reception. on time

When buying a ticket to note that large luggage must be stowed in a container and where these containers can be found missing. The toilets are not cleaned during the crossing and not renewed the toilet paper! I had to register during both trips. "

We were very impressed with the express ferry. The journey there was via La Gomera which added an hour to the journey and the ship was quite busy for the first part of the trip. The second part was a bit choppy and quite a few passengers were sick. The dealt with that very discretely and efficiently. The journey back was direct and much smoother, taking 2 hours. The snack bar was more than adequate considering the time we were aboard. Loading and unloading was efficient but our crossing from Los Cristanos was delayed by nearly an hour due to operating difficulties in a port that only seemed to have two ships operating, making arrival very late in the evening.

Ah dear Fred, you were on time for once. The only time in three crossings. Otherwise, the trimaran is clean and fast. Before booking with Fred, check the competition, it might be interesting (pricewise) and from what I have heard they are always on time.

Great ferry ride but be careful if you travel back to Cristianos at 17.00 hrs as port is grid locked with cars, buses and taxis and it takes a while to get out.

Yes, Fred Olsen mega Trimaran is fast, but, according to the Canaries natives, is always late. You need to plan a lot of extra time if you have a connecting flight! The (regular) ferry from ARMAS is always on time, go slower, but doesn't leave a bitter taste in your mouth

Depending on the distance of the islands, it is better to travel in Fred Olsen and by plane. The time will be the same but the comfort is so much better. A great experience that I will repeat without a doubt if I have the choice.

On the positive side: fairly new boats, you can leave your luggage in a container before boarding the boat, there is a free wifi zone and a tv zone where you can strech out the seats. On the negative side: 2 out of 3 boats late, one by 2 hours and 15 minutes, the other by 1 hour, the seats were not very clean, I didn't try the food, because it didn't seem very appealing.
