Condor Liberation

Operated by Condor Ferries on the Guernsey Poole & Jersey Poole routes

The Condor Liberation was purchased by Condor Ferries in late 2014 and is the latest member of the fleet to run on their routes between England and the Channel Islands. The first of its kind to sail in Northern Europe, she can hold up to 880 passengers and has space for 245 cars. The Condor Liberation has a more stable design than existing high speed ferries and as a result will be able to sail in considerably higher seas, resulting in less travel disruption. On-board the renovated interior will keep you in comfort throughout your crossing, whilst enjoying all it has to offer with its many facilities.

Onboard Cabins / Reserved Seating

There are no cabins available on this ship, however there is seating available for everyone onboard with three tiered seating options to choose from.

Onboard Food and Drink

Onboard the Condor Liberation you can eat the delicious Casquettes self-service restaurant. The menu consists of a range of hot meals, snacks such as sandwiches, baguettes and wraps, hot and cold desserts, soft and alcoholic beverages are also on offer.

Onboard Shopping

The Duty free shop onboard offers passengers a chance to purchase reduced priced goods from men and women’s fragrances to alcohol from around the world.

Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Condor Liberation guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

  • "Decent and well organised"

We had a return crossing from Poole to St Helier, reserving table seats for our crossing. Boarding was well organised and efficient. The tabled seating area was a nice environment although it seemed weird to put couples next to each other when there were so many empty tables. Mask policy seemed a bit pointless - most people didn't bother so I'm not sure why Condor wanted people to wear masks. Food on board was quite decent and cheaper than eating on Jersey itself! Staff were all freindly and helpful.

I travelled from Jersey to Poole on the 3rd of jan,I wS dreading it as weather was so awful last time and I was seasick, this trip was so positive, the staff were so friendly and val who wS behind the bar and keeping the deck tidy for guests wS so nice, she advised me to eat a little something so I had a snack, I booked a reclining seat and I must say it was very comfortable, no sea sickness and I even managed to sleep.we got there ahead of schedule and all staff were so polite helpful and friendly, well done condor I will definitely travel by boat more often as this trip has changed my negative thoughts about sailing by boat, and what a lovely team of staff, thank you 😊

  • "Ahhhhh! "

I arrived on the ferry after a very good check in process. Found our seat and waited to departed. Once departed I didn’t know if to laugh or cry! The captain explained it could be a bumpy ride due to the swells. Ok I thought, I have my trusty sick bands with me, what could go wrong.... well! My first concerns started with the massive swaying of the boat and people falling all over the place! A man staggering towards duty free launched himself at the door opening landing on all fours praising the lord he’d made it! Then just stayed there. That was him done! Next come the crash from the duty free with everything promptly falling off the shelves! Duty free now understandably shut, man still holding on! Next the woman behind me started head banging my seat with her finger in her ears, crying and saying very loudly no no no no, this lasted appropriately 2hours! The gracious staff started to hand out sick bags (a little late in some cases but considerate all the same) just to clarify the lady behinds distress the staff gave her 3 sick bags!!!! Best to be sure! Anyway, we finally arrive and I hear this lady say she’s definitely not travelling back on the ferry even if that means she has to leave her car in guernsey or live there. Now, this lady is in fact my sister - and I fear she may never leave, I’ve had to call our mother in to take her back!!!

Due to bad weather our journey both to and from Jersey was postponed. However the staff were amazing at helping with a new time to go. From arrival at the port until leaving for home the staff were wonderful. Being disabled their courtesy and help made the trip so easy and all were friendly and polite. The ship was comfortable and access no problem. I would definitely choose this company again when taking the ferry. Thank you all for helping make our holiday so special.

  • "Really good service on board"

The refill coffee is worth having if you want 2 or more cups of coffee on the crossing. Staff were courteous and helpful on board. The people helping you park your car on board were amazing in their instructions and the manner in which they helped. Advice: prepare your things to take from the car to the decks well in advance in a quick grab bag - don't drop anything on the floors on the parking area after a crossing or when it's raining - they get very wet. The car check-in takes much longer than expected - make sure you are in the right queue if you have no passenger, your vehicle is tall or has a roof rack on it. The queue system to check-in could be managed much better to be more efficient and take the stress out of the process. Given how well everything else is organised and planned its a little surprising that check-in is a free for all...

  • "Ferry trip. "

We have travelled with condor ferries to jersey many times, and usually booked the trip actually with Condor. This time my daughter booked it with diectferries, and I have to say I would not use this company again. There was a delay at poole and we were not notified by direct ferries and the website said everything was ok. Our ferry was supposed to leave at 6-30 am but they rescheduled it for 2pm. We and five other cars were there at 5, they hadn't been notified either, all the passengers who booked with Condor knew about the delay and arrived at lunchtime! Needless to say we will only book with Condor next time, as waiting at Poole for 9 hours was horrendous!! Cant fault Condor ferries they were great.

  • "A good service but weather dependent. "

Make sure you book direct with Condor and not through an agent! Our crossing was cancelled due to poor weather (both ways). While Condor let us know well in advance, once we were on their radar; the agent gave us less than two hours notice before the sailing. Staff at Condor were very good and helped us re-book without any fuss. They also helped us find accommodation in in Poole. The sailing was OK both ways although the rough sea going out did cause a lot of sea-sickness.

  • "Pretty good on balance"

Travelled Poole to Guernsey and return. The loading at Poole took ages - apparently others had received e-mail asking them to arrive 90 mins before departure not 60, but I didn't get one, maybe because I didn't book direct. The staff were all pretty good and the actual crossing time is really good. Standard seats were just fine for the crossing (very much airline style) - fine for reading eating breakfast or relaxing. On the way back the crossings on the day before and after were cancelled which made us feel somewhat lucky not to have been disrupted, which at 1 crossing per day could have caused quite an issue. The return ferry was late, but we were basically relieved it was running. The food was perfectly adequate and the staff serving it seemed pretty good. My wife was very unimpressed with the condition of the female toilets in both directions, it seemed like they hadn't been serviced between crossings. The men's seemed OK to me. Overall a very reasonable way to get to Guernsey.

  • "Excellent service "

This was our first trip with Condor from Poole. Excellent service. We were on a motorcycle so the strap down service was brilliant. We had standard seats which was a bit difficult as we didn’t know where to put the crash helmets etc but luckily it wasn’t busy so we could use the seats behind us. Food was good. We would definitely recommend this route.
