Operated by Sado Kisen Jetfoil on the route
These high-speed Jetfoils, with capacities of 244–246 passengers, are designed to travel at 80 km/h even through rough waves up to 3.5 meters, thanks to their bodies being elevated above the seawater. They are propelled by water jet pumps driven by gas turbine engines, which inject approximately 150 tons of seawater per minute at a high pressure of 9 kg/cm². The vessels are lifted above the water by hydrofoils located at the front and rear of the hull, allowing them to “fly” over the sea’s surface—earning the nickname “airplanes in the sea.” All three Jetfoils navigate daily between Niigata Port and Ryotsu Port, providing fast and smooth transport across the waters.
