Novalja Ferry Port

Situated on the west coast of Croatia, Novalja Port is used as the gateway between Croatia and Italy. The only ferry route departing the port is to Pesaro, on the east coast of Italy, and crosses once per week on a sailing lasting just under six hours.

What is there to do in Novalja?

Glorious beaches, scorching sun and relentless nightlife – it’s easy to see why Novalja has become such a hotspot for young partygoers. Myriad of bars offering famous DJ’s and cheap alcohol prove too tempting for many young people, especially in combination with the beautiful scenery and vibrant atmosphere. Continuing the energetic vibe, many festivals are held in the town; the frequent stream of tourism creating a vivacious feel has prompted Novalja to be dubbed the ‘Ibiza of Croatia’. The town may have become synonymous with intense nightlife and all night parties, yet there is more to Novalja than just drunken tourists. To escape the chaos of the town centre, the beaches are home to golden sands next to azure waters, and are perfect for whiling away a few hours whilst topping up a tan. Most beaches will offer excursions such as jet skiing or boat trips for anyone longing for a spot of adventure.

How do visitors get around Novalja?

Most visitors use a car, yet it is possible to walk around much of the town centre. There are a few rental companies dotted around the town, offering scooters as well as cars for hire. Taxis are readily available throughout the town, though are notoriously expensive, so it is worthwhile negotiating a price before entry.
