Ferry to Langesund reviews

  • "Plesant Crossing"

Ship had good facilities and was better than I expected. I got a cabin on the way back so I could shower and rest better. The upgrade from the staff went well and quickly and it was so nice to have this on a ferry. The cost of upgrade was quite reasonable as well. Overall really enjoyed the crossings.

  • "Comfortable crossing"

We had a very smooth efficient crossing from Hirtshals to Langesund. The boat was reasonably comfortable, but not many options for lunch, as most of the food outlets were closed!

  • "Info for dog owners ( especially Brits)"

Ferry was great, plenty of room, pricy coffee, but you know...right - dog owners; Before leaving UK I told my vet I was going to Norway, they said no issues with current vaccs etc. Off I go Hirtshals to Langesund. Back I come to Denmark when the border guys in Langesund pick up that the passport hasn't got an Echinicoccus ( tapeworm) stamp valid within last 7 days. Vet in Hirtshals (info@sindaldyrehospital.dk, Tel 93 50 66) said this happens a lot. It's cost me over £300 in ferries, plus lost three days of the trip, so you need to get it done on the way up through to here. Dogs stay in cars on ship, but they organise access to the car deck halfway through the 4.5 hour journey. You can take dogs to the upper deck and helideck for the first,or last half of the journey, or all of it. Fine if the weather's good, not so if bad, as the dogs aren't allowed into the hip interior except to/from the car.
