"Smooth professional service "
First time I have taken my car abroad for 30 years. The overall experience was superb and the staff all polite and friendly. The kids all seemed to enjoy their organised activities The reclining seats in the quiet lounge were comfortable and and I could sleep easily.
"First crossing with Brittany"
Pleasant trip, definitely worth booking reclining seats, self service restaurant food good and not overpriced
"Empathetic staff"
I just wanted to say a big thank you to all the staff for accommodating my family onboard. My daughter has anxiety issues and the staff really helped with her needs.
"Mont Saint Michel"
Very good
"Relaxing moment "
Nice friendly staff, everything ran smoothly: based on this I was rested enough to drive home in 8 hrs.
"Mont St Michel - Portsmouth/Caen/Portsmouth"
Lovely boat but catering was abysmal - very disappointing food. Not much better than the Dover/Calais crossing in terms of catering. Restaurant was closed on both journeys and the food served by the self-service cafeteria was pretty awful. Certainly not what I would expect from a French company. Travelled with Brittany Ferries a few years ago and the food was superb. Come on Brittany Ferries. You can do better than this. What happened to your standards? No reflection on your lovely staff. They do their best.
"Night crossing"
On our outgoing journey we were kept awake by car horns going off, but on the return journey we were on a higher deck and were un effected by any noise from the car deck and slept well. Cabins are small but perfectly clean and functional, the staff were efficient. It was good to be able to get a breakfast before our onward journey although the cooked breakfast wasn’t great.
"Very comfortable crossing"
This was our first ferry crossing, so we did not know what to expect. For starters, the vessel was a lot larger than we expected. It was well appointed with cafes, restaurants, lounges and even two small cinemas. Plenty of comfortable seating all over the place and space to lie down and sleep if you wanted. The food at the self-service restaurant was excellent. Well organised, on time and a most pleasant experience overall.
"Great ship"
Nice trip home!!
"Good trip but but late"
Efficient and everything you need bar and self service Resturant did not seem to open at the listed time

"My first experience with ferry ⛴️ "
Everything was more that I was thinking about my first experience with the ferry ⛴️ was perfect thanks
"Checking in"
For Direct Ferries. Please do not say Check In closes 90 minutes before departure. It is simply not true and was a huge waste of my time. You can show up until 30mins before departure. I was really frustrated about that. Thank you.
"Brittany Ferry"
Great service and good value.
"Very helpful staff"
We had a good crossing both ways, but what I really appreciated was the helpful helpful staff. My husband broke his foot the week before we traveled and they offered assisted boarding and deboarding on each voyage and were pleasant and helpful. The catering was also really good
"Brittany ferries ⛴ "
My two daughters and I had a nice ,smooth sail over night. The cabins were comfortable, clean and warm.
"Pleasant "
Satisfied
"Our trip"
Journey through the port and boarding was very efficient. However we ere disappointed with our cabin as there was rubbish left in there by previous occupant and it didn’t feel like it had been cleaned properly. Our cabin on the return journey was perfect. (A noticeable difference) Also the food in the self service restaurant was a bit tired, I think this was because it was a night crossing.
"Great Trip"
Found our way to the cafe where, early in the morning and having had no breakfast, we found the petit dejeuner which was just what we wanted. As it wasn't too busy, we found ourselves seats where we wanted and had a relaxing voyage before our drive in France.
"Returning to the U.K. after five years"
Having being asked to play golf with friends at Celtic Manor South Wales, it prompted me to look at ways to get there. The obvious route was by ferry using the Caen/ Portsmouth route Check in at both ports was very efficient and checks through passport control ran smoothly keeping the lines moving, although this might change next year with biometric checks. The ship was clean and all the staff in the ships facilities were polite and friendly and dealt with you as quickly as possible. The 2 birth cabin was small but again was well turned out.
"Good journey"
Welcoming staff, good facilities. But cold in the lounge, samedi!
"Awful experience "
We got the 11pm ferry crossing from France to England tickets were not cheap so had high hopes but was severely disappointed the ferry was like a fridge everyone was freezing, seats in reserved seating hopeless not at all comfy and no hot drinks available throughout the night won’t be booking again, almost 9 hours of being froze to death
"Paid for non-existent wifi"
Staff was great, cabin was great, food in the restaurant was really good with healthy options and a wide variety which is wonderful. However 2 points of improvement stand out: #1 there is no obvious central point indicating what enterrtaintment is taking place when. Some prior news by email might be useful. And #2 we bought a 12 premium wifi package that did not work, we were unable to log onto the internet AT ALL. So we effectively threw £12 in the water. If the wifi cannot be guaranteed, I think it is not morally right to ask people to pay for it.
"trip to uk"
Excellent but no TV for football
"Fabulous crossing "
Our only question was why on earth had we not used this route before, excellent service from Brittany Ferries
"Breakfast bar on top deck"
Being in the catering business myself, I couldn't understand why there were only 2 staff trying to serve a long queue of people breakfast, who had limited time before they had to rejoin their cars
"Excellent crew and ship."
Absolutely fine. Good food and drink. Sailed on schedule.Loading no hassle. Estimate probably only 10% of capacity so no queues for anythin Being out of EC means wait for passport control both ways which could be considerable in main holiday period and could be a test of your patience which is
"Ferries fine, port connections rubbish!"
The ferries were great. Unfortunately getting to and from them as foot passengers was difficult (and expensive!), involving long walks, navigating local bus timetables, and extremely expensive taxi (to Caen). Why no shuttle bus between nearest stations and ferry port, to meet each and every sailing? We were left at the French port having arrived at 9.30pm to phone for a taxi from Caen, which cost £40.
"Noisy"
The cabins at the back vibrate so much pieces of the cabin had come loose and we're rattling very loudly
"Alright"
Not really sure what to say, just average. The lift was not working and being disabled this was an absolute nightmare, with everyone trying to use the stairs. My husband fell out with someone who was in a hurry to get passed me. Then the cash register was not working in the canteen, though goodness knows why this had not been discovered earlier prior to embarkation. We had paid for and reserved two reclining seats and yet we then found that they were not even seated together and the Duty Free shop was so small and limited that it was hardly worth visiting. All in all not really a good experience.
"Good crossing"
Reassuringly competent, no dramas, just get on with the job.
"Never knows such poor customer service"
Never known anything like it! Direct Ferries is the worth Company I have ever had to deal with...or should I say never did they do anything to deal with my query. To date, I have still have not been contact regarding ticket #1242630 as a genuine mistake was made on the booking. They charge you £10 if you amend online and £45 if they have to call you. They prefer not calling so you lose the full price of the ticket £166.00. Greed will kill you and out you out of business. Likely Brittany Ferries know what they are doing and sorted it in 2 seconds over the phone and guess what, they did not even charge £10, only £9.00 not the £45 Direct Ferries mention. How much money have they stolen from people, I wonder?
"Vehicle loading"
How come when I was the fourth car to check in at Portsmouth for loading and nearly the last to unload in France, Meaning that my hotel thought I was not coming, And don,t give me the old nut Meg that vans, caravans have to load first, there was at least 3xlines of cars in front of me
"Misinformed, bad communication and uncooperative "
I would not book through direct ferries as they are unwilling to help if you have a problem. My ferry time was changed and I was misinformed about the new checking time leading to my not making the ferry and losing all my money. Had I been correctly informed this would not have happened. I was either ignored after this or told to commit Clare with Brittany when Brittany told me I needed to communicate with direct ferries. I wasted a lot of time just trying to speak to someone. I asked on several occasions that I dented to make a formal complaint and I stlll haven’t received this information.
