More ferry crossings for Grimaldi Lines
Date: 25 Jan 2010 11:30 Source: Grimaldi LinesNaples based Grimaldi Ferries is to expand its already dense network of services in the western Mediterranean, adding a fourth weekly visit on Catania-Genoa and extending its Civitavecchia-Catania service via a through-call at the Maltese capital Valletta.
As with other competitors in the region, Grimaldi Lines is making extensive use of the low-cost concept pioneered by the budget airlines.
From February 1, the Catania-Genoa service will move from thrice-weekly to four times a week. Two of those weekly services will also serve Malta.
The Catania Civitavecchia goods and passenger service, meanwhile, will also be extended to Malta, via a Saturday sailing by the ferry Catania, which has capacity for 800 passengers.
