We went on the transmapi car ferry from Ibiza to Formentera. It was a very smooth experience, and there’s even a bouncy castle onboard to keep the kids happy! Takes about 40mins and the crew are really helpful and friendly. The only snag was that we weren’t booked on the ferry we had thought, and instead had to wait from 1pm to 4pm. This gave us some time to explore Ibiza town so not too bad. You might want to double check though. Also, direct ferry’s have a very expensive phone line if you need to phone them!

A little bit difficult to find the road to the Formentera ferry at Ibiza town but otherwise boarding with car was easy and well-organised. Beautiful view of Ibiza Town as ship left harbour. Ship left and arrived on time - journey is only 45 minutes. Can't comment on catering as didn't have anything; there's a small bar onboard. Probably advisable to book ahead at peak times.
