Taxis are also available on the island, although they can be very expensive.

How to get to Volos port

Volos port is conveniently located within walking distance of the centre of Volos. If you’re arriving by train or bus, you can walk from the station to the port in around 20 minutes. Alternatively, taxis are also available.

  • From Athens: Volos is located around 200 miles from Athens. The journey takes approximately 3 and a half hours by car. You can also get a KTEL bus from Athens to Volos which takes slightly longer.
  • From Thessaloniki: Volos is around 128 miles from Thessaloniki. You can reach Volos in just over 2 hours by car. KTEL also operate a bus service from Thessaloniki bus station to Volos.
