Nador Overview

Nador city, northeastern Morocco in the Rif.
The city is a Mediterranean port on the Bou Areg Lagoon and a trading centre for fish, fruits, and livestock. It is linked to the Spanish plaza (North African enclave) of Melilla, 10 kilometers north, by a semi-motorway.
The city is populated by Tarifit-Berber (Thamazight n Arif) speaking population of nearly 180,000 inhabitants. Near Nador there is the transmission site for long-wave and shortwave of Radio Medi. The aerial masts of Radio Medi for long-wave are approximately 380 metres high and belong to the tallest constructions in Afrique.
The economy of the city is based on fishery, agriculture and some industry. Nador is officially the Richest city in Morocco on the level of financial capacity due to money transfers of Nadori Moroccans living and working in Western Europe.

By Train There is a station in Nador with limited links to the rest of Morocco.

By Ferry Nador ferry port operates services to Almeria with Trasmediterranea and Ferrimaroc. There are 8 crossings a day, sailing duration is from 5 hours.
