  • "Joy Lines was great, Direct Ferries…. Not so much."

Direct Ferries provided us with a faulty ticket/boarding pass. Our original booking was confirmed (both outbound and return) and the full amount was charged. Our outbound trip was fairly painless (even though the port authorities were a bit confused of our printed boarding pass we received from Direct Ferries). However, once returning from our destination, we noticed that our boarding pass only included an outbound ticket, the return was marked as ”NA” and no return date nor time for the return could be found anywhere. This made everything complicating, since the Ferry company could not find our ticket for return nor any proof that we had paid for the return. They eventually showed us that Direct Ferries had not even confirmed our return to them. We had to screenshot every possible receipt and proof we had for our payment and reservation and contact local offices to discuss the issue (we were also on a tight schedule to catch our flight for the evening, which was the only flight back home for a week). Luckily, Joy Lines was very kind and assisted us through the whole complication, and ended up trusting us and that we had truly paid for the return and told us that they would try and solve this directly with Direct Ferries. So Joy Lines worked fabulously and the personnel was extremely kind and professional, I highly recommend traveling with them again. But thanks to Direct Ferries as a third party ticket provider and an apparent mistake in our Boarding Pass that they provided, we ended our holiday week on a stressful tone. Hopefuly this sort of mistake can be avoided in the future so that other customers do not have to suffer or stress with a similar matter we had to.

  • "Basic but works"

All worked fine, more or less on time. Was pleasant being on the open deck, beer in hand watching the world go by. Boats are a bit old and basic, but absolutely fine.

Corfu Guide

Located in the Ionian Sea, the Greek island of Corfu is the second largest of the Ionian Islands. Also called Corfu is the island's largest city and is home to the Ionian University. The island is popular with tourists who flock there to enjoy the island's excellent beaches and its mild Mediterranean climate. Surprisingly, Corfu is quite a green island, especially compared to other Greek islands. Hot summers combined with winter rains creates lush vegetation which is dominated by over 2 million olive trees.

Corfu town is Venice and Naples, with a touch of France and more than a dash of England. The maze of narrow streets in the town are dominated by the 16th century fortress, which is well worth exploring. Wandering around the city visitors will probably stumble across an old chapel or mansion or perhaps a secret garden. In the narrow streets radiating off from the Liston, visitors will find small shops selling everything you can think of. You will find craftsmen that are experts at designing and making Greek jewellery in gold. Coupled with competitive prices you may be tempted to take more than memories away from the island!

The island's port offers ferry services to a number of destinations, although the majority of services tend to depart to the Greek mainland.
