Darwin is a city like no other. Situated on Australia's northern coast, the capital of Australia's Northern Territory boasts a rich Aboriginal culture, which you can learn all about at various places throughout the city, including the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. Its proximity to Asia gives the city a multicultural feel too, best experienced at the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets with its international offerings.
Darwin is less about sightseeing and more about the great outdoors. It's one of the best cities in Australia for wildlife lovers and adventure seekers, with once-in-a-lifetime experiences right on its doorstep. Whether you fancy cruising with crocodiles, witnessing ancient rock art, swimming in waterfalls or hiking through lush forests, there's plenty to see and do in Darwin.
The city itself is super laid-back with a cool waterfront precinct with cafes, restaurants and a relaxing lagoon - unfortunately you can't swim in the sea here thanks to the crocs, but this more than makes up for it.

Located on Australia's east coast, Brisbane is Queensland's sunny capital. Although it tends to be overshadowed by Sydney and Melbourne, it has plenty of perks. Not only is it less crowded and cheaper, but it's attractions give the bigger cities a run for their money.
Thanks to its subtropical climate, the modern city has a chilled outdoor lifestyle with activities centred around its winding river and the beautiful South Bank Parklands. Here, you'll find a sun-soaked lagoon and lush green spaces - perfect for relaxing or enjoying a typical Aussie barbie.
But don't worry, the city has you covered when it's raining too. Brisbane has an exciting culinary scene with influences from all over the world. From swanky riverside restaurants to cool cafes, street food stalls, craft breweries and rooftop bars, there's something for every taste. The city is also bursting with culture with art galleries, museums, live music venues and festivals taking place throughout the year.

It’s not all about eastern Australia though. The west coast is home to one of Australia’s most beautiful cities – Perth. Worlds away from the busyness of the east coast cities, Perth is all about that laid-back lifestyle – relax in picturesque parks, soak up the sunshine on sandy beaches, sip world-class wines alongside sea views and sail to stunning islands where you can get up close to incredible wildlife.
Its Caribbean-like coastline is one of its main draws, with sun-drenched sands lapped by turquoise waters and amazing sunsets providing the backdrop to lazy evenings. But along with its natural beauty, Perth has a great arts scene with galleries, museums, street murals and festivals. Its food scene is also thriving with a focus on fresh local produce.
Day trips also make Perth a great base for exploring some of western Australia's must-sees. Adelaide is also known for its vibrant festival. The city hosts major cultural events such as the Adelaide Fringe, Australia's largest arts festival, and WOMADelaide, an open-air music, arts and dance festival.

It's got those laid-back Aussie vibes but with a European twist.
The city is jam-packed with culture, with galleries, theatres, festivals and live music venues all showcasing Melbourne's amazing arts scene.
