Portsmouth has the best road connections of any UK Channel ferry port and it is nearer to central London than Dover or the Channel Tunnel. The M275 brings the national motorway network right to the port itself. A new exit road gives cars and coaches direct access to a northbound slip road on to the M275 plus easy access to central Portsmouth.
Portsmouth Ferry Port by Rail
There are frequent train services between Portsmouth and London Waterloo: the journey takes 85 minutes. Services to London Victoria pass through Chichester, Brighton and Gatwick. Services to Cardiff pass through Salisbury and Bristol. Portsmouth Harbour Train station is about 3 miles away from the port. A shuttle bus operates to connect with the Ferry sailing. Isle of Wight terminal is situated next to Portsmouth Harbour station for foot passengers only.
