"Fine fir a short ferry crossing. "
The ship was fine for a short 45 minute ferry crossing (not for the return Journey that took nearly 10 hours and went all around the Cyclades!)
"Mykonos Mystery tour"
When I booked our Seajet journey from Myknos to Naxos I was told that the ferry left the Old Port, Mykonos at 3.30 p.m. When we arrived at the Old Port locals told us that the Seajet now sailed from the New Port, and that the ticket office at the Old Port was now a car hire station. I had to walk back into the town centre to get the tickets and take the sea bus to the New Port, where (luckily) the departure time was now 4.30. I had been informed of none of these changes to the schedule . This is very poor customer service and I will not be using Direct Ferries again. The ship was fine.
"Dreadful "
The staff are rude and treat the passengers like cattle. You are herded on. Baggage isn’t secured anywhere. They then vanish as your journey starts. Announcements in English are practically unintelligible. We were apparently given the option to get off and wait at Naxos because the sea was very rough. Most people didn’t realise this was an option and by the time several of us did realise we were told we were too late and the door slammed in our faces. Rough journey to follow with zero crew presence especially for frightened people not used to a bumpy ride including two mothers with newborns who were terrified. Not the first time I’ve had a bad experience.
"Quick transfer - all OK"
Boats were on time, smooth quick crossings. Squashed a bit getting luggage off rear and bags everywhere and people pressing to get off. Dated interior but all ok.
"Greek Ferries - Sea Jets"
All on time and everything went smoothly. You have to take your Direct Ferries receipt into the Sea Jet office at the departing port to have the "official" ticket produced, one hour before departure. That takes two minutes. imply no problems!
"not a positive experience "
Not happy at all...We were at the port over one hour early. We had already purchased our tickets/vouchers a few days earlier and we had our printed reservation. When we arrived at the port we went to the reception desk where they found our reservation and gave us our tickets and we were told that our ferry would be leaving at 1:15 instead of 12:45. We said "ok". We went back to the reception desk to reconfirm only to be told that it would now be leaving at 1:30. We proceeded to go inside where we wait for the ferry and time just kept going by and no ferry saying Seajets2. We were confused as to why our ferry had not still arrived as now even more time had gone by. We went back to the reception only to be told that our ferry had left at 1:15. Why on earth did she tell us 1:30 delay?? We then asked if we could get refunded since we never used the tickets and were told "no" and that the next one was leaving for Naxos in 10 minutes and with a different company. We were furious. On top of that, the Speedrunner was 2.5 hours instead of 1.20 with Seajets. We obviously had no choice but to hurry up, buy the tickets and run like crazy people not to miss the Speedrunner. We missed a whole vacation day because of conflicting stories at the front desk. Two different people, 2 different stories. The reason we originally decided to pay more for an earlier ferry with Seajets was so we could get to Naxos early and enjoy the rest of the day since our stay in Naxos was only 3 days (one day ruined and wasted, of course). We still have the 3 tickets from Seajets NOT CUT and in their original state since we never boarded the ferry. We also have the 3 tickets which were "cut" when we actually boarded the Speedrunner. We can scan the tickets and show you the proof what time we got the tickets at reception, the fact we never boarded because of the miscommunication and the conflicting stories we were given, along with the Speedrunner tickets that we bought 10 minutes before boarding. Last year we were here in Greece, took the Hellenic from Santorini to Crete with no issues. This year with Seajets it was a DISASTER. Once we get back to Montreal I would like to scan you all the documentation and copies of Seajet tickets and would appreciate a refund for not using them. Waiting for positive feedback from you. "total chaos"
boarding was insane..nobody knew where to stand...everybody kept being in the wrong place and there was another boat the naxos star in the same spot so tons of confusion...everyone was in the embarkation area first in the shade then a rumor spread that the boat was leaving from the end of the port so we all moved...then it was just pure confusion for everyone.. once on board it was worse..nobody could find seats...I think no one knew it was assigned seats...nobody told me for sure...and a huge group of asians were so super confused for like 30 minutes moving around the wrong places and sitting in the wrong places...just total chaos.. super bad organization... and finally getting off the boat was bad too-bags falling everywhere..people stepping on bags to climb out...just really unorganized...
"voyage peu agréable"
Le bateau avait plus d'1hr de retard. Aucune information n'était donnée, ni avant ni pendant le trajet
"Terrible experience"
Had to line up for a long time to get ticket issued (why they don't let you print it off at home I will never understand) then was handed my tickets after being charged 1 euro to have them printed (had to be there at least an hour before the boat left to get them printed). Was handed the ticket and it said boat leaving at 1030 not 0950 as scheduled. Got on the boat at 1030 and after asking 3 people was finally told that this was now not the fast boat I had paid for (40 minutes to Naxos) but would go via Paros and I wouldn't arrive until 1200. Then when leaving Paros (scheduled for 1530) we finally left about 1615 but of course no one knew what was happening at Paros so we just had to wait with no idea what was happening. Basically as bad an experience as they can make it.
"Big delays / poor service"
The boat had serious delays and we arrived with more than 2 hours delay to our destination. Also the Televisions were not working which meant that we lost both Quarter finals of the World Cup 2018. Also meant little respect for the passengers needs.
"2 hours delay"
The ferry was to leave at 10:20 and it came to the Port only at 12:10h! Very desrespectable!!
"Lovely boat, need ticketing improvement"
Lovely modern boat from Naxos to Mykonos, airconditioned, comfortable, spotless. Baggage storage a bit of a free for all but it worked. Only gripe is that tickets are not emailed, only the confirmation. So arrive Naxos port to find a (small) bit of paper saying you need to walk 300m to a ticketing shop, pay 1 Euro to get your ticket printed, and walk back. This seems unnecessary grit (especially as you have luggage with you) - why not just email a printable ticket, or a mobile one?
"Fast service "
Travelled club lounge plenty of space really prompt journey time, did not know service stopped at major islands on trip managed a glimpse of santorini
"Ferry to sifnos "
Turned up on time. Confusing where to sit on outward journey but were directed to some sits 10 minutes into journey. The return ferry departure time was changed but the did text us the day before to inform this. Its was only put back by an hour. Would use again
"Did not update me about change of time."
Seajets changed the ferry departure time and notified their reservations accordingly. I guess that because I booked with Direct Ferries, I was not notified. I ended travelling back to Crete (where I had come from). There I caught another ferry (at my cost) to Piraeus. To be fair, I had no priblems with my reservation from Crete to Thira. It's a crap shoot.
"Island Trip"
Nice looking Ferry but didn't get a chance to travel on it. Ferry time changed between Naxos and Mykonos with little communication to the change. The ferry was late and don't rely on the email confirmation of your travel time, only the ticket. Clearly we missed the ferry as it was 2 hours ahead of the scheduled time, no reason given! You are meant to collect your ticket 1 hour before the ferry departure, go figure that out! Staff at Santorini and Naxos extremely unhelpful.
"very poor facilities and overpriced "
very old ship, cold environment with air conditioning blowing to our heads for three hours and not able to shut it down as were broken. we felt dizzy several times during the route and we did not know that we cannot get out on the deck for fresh air. very poor facilities and overpriced never again!!
"Greek Ferries"
Had some previous bad experiences with SeaJet regarding reliability so we were concerned this year as we were taking our family (party of eight) on holiday to Naxos and were totally dependant on the ferry link to get us from Mykonos where we had flown to into Naxos. Discovered this year that all ferries with the exception of SeaJet 2 now depart from the New Port at Mykonos but fortunately the bus transfer from the airport took us there promptly for just 2 Euros each. The facilities for waiting are fairly basic with just one kiosk selling snacks and drinks but at least there were plenty of waiting areas and toilets and the sun was shining! The boat arrived over 40 minutes late although the high winds had obviously created the delay, five minutes before the boat arrived (no prior warnings, no information on the delay) everybody was was patiently waiting behind the barriers then as soon as the boat arrived the passengers morphed into a massed impatient crowd with no intent of queuing in an orderly fashion. The gangway depended and due to the waves it was moving horizontally in a swathing motion that meant it was extremely difficult for children and the elderly (and others with baggage) to ascend into the ship, it could have been very dangerous for some and even when on the boat the movements made it difficult to stand up. At this point I will give credit for a very skilled boat crew who keep this ferry running despite inclement weather and are obviously trying to keep to a very tight time schedule but surely they could organise the difficult embarkation process in a safer manner than this? The ferry arrived over an hour late at Naxos but fortunately our hotel who were collecting us were aware of the usual delays with SeaJets and don't leave until they receive notification the boat is arriving. The return trip from Naxos to Mykonos was much better helped no doubt by the much calmer seas and arrived at Naxos about 15 minutes late and we had a fast return journey, as this went to the Old Port we had much better waiting facilities at Mykonos town centre while we waited for the bus to take us to the airport, with many tavernas, an excellent bakery and even a small beach to swim on. The boats do have a selection of food and drink on board and whilst we didn't need to buy anything everything looked good for those that needed to eat and drink. With all the above in mind I would suggest you don't allow a very tight schedule and allow plenty of time for delays if catching flights.
"Journey from Katapola (Amorgos) to Naxos on Seajet"
Our journey on Seajet all went well although delayed by high winds and a bit of a bumpy ride. For short journeys the Seajet is fine but prefer to be able to go outside. The problem with all Greek ferry services is the lack of information on the ground at the port. No one tells you what is happening and how late the ferry is or what time you will arrive at your destination.
"Always delayed"
More than 60 minutes delayed - almost lose my flight. Had to buy club ticket as it was packed, but no difference apart from the price. My seat was taken. Problem is no alternative.
"Poor show"
Very disappointed by our recent experience. Booked in advance thinking it was the right thing yo do. Our flight was delayed so we missed the ferry we were booked on and then we're told tickets are non transferable. So ended up paying twice and still suffered huge delays. Dont bother booking in advance.
"Sunshine and seajets"
If their schedule fits in with yours and you have time to play with then this company is good but if it's a tight schedule then be careful because they ran late on inward and outward journeys, probably because of the weather and tides. They aren't the cheapest ferry either.
"Excelent trip"
Excelent experience in this trip
"Naxos to Athens"
Great fast jet boat. Very comfortable seats. Got to see Mykonos on way back. Also has deck - very windy at full speed so hang on to your glasses. Be prepared to get yourself on and off the boat up the car ramp. Bit of a stampede but good fun. They have very little time at each stop so be ready.
"Thira-Milos Seajet"
Very efficient. But you can't go on deck which means you can't relieve sense of nausea. There was a stiff wind when we travelled & a lot of passengers were seasick, even though the movement was not severe. On the return trip there was no wind & it was fine.
"Smooth voyage"
I recommend this speedy ferry service. It was a smooth, comfortable journey, on time on the way out, and just 20 minutes late on the way back, but we seemed to make up time on the way as we arrived on schedule! Before going, it would have been good if Direct Ferries had known which 'gate' we would be leaving from as it was our first time in Greece and we were concerned about getting to the right place to catch the ferry. However, the hotel we stayed in the night before knew which part of the port Seajets leave from and their free transfer system took us there for 6am for a 7am departure.
"Not as bad as expected after reading other reviews. "
Apart from arriving at Milos port 20 mins late (Greek time) the Seajet ferry to Santorini went without a hitch , my only criticism is that someone on board should make sure all passengers are in the seats they are allocated as some people just sat anywhere they wanted and it made things a little chaotic ,other than that, ok.
"Bumpy trip"
The seajet took us from Pireaus to Naxos and back to Pireaus after 14 days in Oktober. I was strong wind on 26th of October, but the ship was still doing good speed. We was 2 hours late on arrival in Pireaus, but that is understandable when the wind was as strong and the waves also was about 2 meters. We will use Seajet later as well. regards Geirr Dippner
"Fast and comfortable journey"
2hours trip from Mykonos old port to Santorini have been very pleasant.
" Ever Reliable"
Good service of reliable stability. The crew is very helpful , especially while you are boarding the ship , particularly if you are a female and travel on your own. I can't be more grateful
"All good"
No issues this time. Punctual travel.
"3 ferries"
Piraeus to Serifos to Sifnos to Milos All excellent and on time. The way to travel. But repair the seats where broken. Arms missing and tables inoperable. There should also be clear indications at Piraeus which gate for which ferries. Even the taxi drivers dont know and guess.
"Sea Jet 2 Folegandros to Santorini"
Very quick smooth crossing in a clean and comfortable vessel aided by pleasant, helpful, and well organised crew. Boat was about 50 minutes late as there had been high winds for several days although things had calmed down on our day of travel. Slight anxiety caused as we had a tight flight connection to make which proved not to be a problem. All in all, a very pleasant passage but felt more like an aeroplane trip than a boating one.
"Delayed but otherwise good once I found the right port."
The ferry was late arriving but the crossing was fast and efficient. Mykonos port(s) chaotic - passenger ferries leave from Old Port, car ferries from New Port, but voucher doesn't tell you which! No information on quay - go to a ferry ticket agent for voucher exchange and information.
"Quick & easy"
