Saint Nazaire Guide

The city of Saint-Nazaire is located in the Loire-Atlantique region of western France. The city lies on the right bank of the Loire River estuary which flows into the Atlantic Ocean, and its port has a long history of shipbuilding and fishing. The city is also located to the south of France's second largest swamp, "la Briere". There are strong links between the town's commercial fortunes and the port as the port is a hub for the exportation of French products. Also important for the town's fortunes is the presence of an Airbus assembly plant where aircraft fuselage sections are fitted out. The city is actually a very green city with a good selection of open spaces and parks, and almost 2,500 acres of agricultural land. There are also some lovely beaches located around the city and for those visitors interested in wildlife, a walk along the old custom officer's path to Les Jaunais is a must as it is lined with Mediterranean plants.

Located in the Spanish autonomous region of Asturias, Gijon is a city that lies on the Bay of Biscay and is situated around 20 km to the north of Oviedo.
