We queued in the correct ‘pens’ in Paros, our ferry arrived….but no-one opened our gates 3&4 where we were waiting, and the ferry left without us. Luckily for us, there was another of your ferries 1/2 hr later, and we all got on that! It was traumatic to see our ferry depart without us.

Travelling between Piraeus and Naxos was fast, comfortable and very pleasant. The ferries are super clean with plenty of seating and facilities. Lots of staff on hand to provide guidance on where to go. Service was on time. Food was ok and reasonably priced.

Excellent trip back to Athens from Paros on Blue Star Naxos. It’s worth paying that little extra to travel Business Class where the lounge is quiet and restful and with excellent waiter service throughout the trip.

It is one of 12 islands that make up the Dodecanese and is around 18 km long and 13 km wide, at its widest point. The island's coast is rather rocky with a number of pebble beaches. The island it separated into two sections by a narrow strip of land, roughly 100 m wide, at Sterno. The island's capital and main harbour is the town of Astypalea, or Chora as the locals call it. A new harbour has been constructed at Agios Andreas where ferry connections to Piraeus and the other islands of the Dodecanese can be found.
The island is connected to the port of Piraeus and also to the other islands in the Dodecanese, the Cycladic islands and to Crete. The journey to the island will either be by a conventional ferry of by Highspeed ferry depending on the day of travel and the ferry company you choose to travel with. Journey times to the island are between 10-12 hours by conventional ferry or 6-9 hours by Highspeed ferry.
The Greek island of Paros is one of the Cyclades group of islands and lies in the Aegean Sea close to the island of Naxos which is about one hour away by ferry. It is a popular holiday destination and has a reputation for being a friendly island and very welcoming to its visitors. It is the second largest of the Cyclades and has many things to see and do including taking part in the many different water sports that are on offer. There is also the Church of Panagia Ekatantapiliani which dates back to 326 AD and is also popular with tourists.
