If you're looking to travel at the moment, we wanted to let you know how Direct Ferries, and ferry companies throughout Europe, are offering a safer way to travel.
Safety measures adopted by ferry companies
Social distancing
Ferries will be operating at reduced capacity, so you and your family have plenty of room to maintain a safe social distance from other passengers.
Face masks
To protect yourself and others, passengers and staff will need to wear masks when checking in, using public areas onboard, and disembarking.
Cleaning
Ferry companies have increased the frequency of cleaning all areas of their ships and ticket offices, so you can feel confident about using all of their facilities.
Ventilation
Unlike other modes of transport, travelling by ferry allows you to go outside and breathe the fresh sea air, and their ventilation systems use 100% fresh air.
No amendment fee
We do understand that many people will feel cautious about booking right now, so we'd like to do what we can to give you peace of mind when you are ready to book. If you need to make a change to your booking, we will not charge you an amendment fee*, and you will only need to pay any fare difference.
Enjoy your trip
We all love to travel, and travelling this year may feel a bit different, but rest assured, we will be doing everything we can to ensure you can still enjoy your trip and travel safely and securely.
*For the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic, Direct Ferries have waived our amendment fees. This policy will be reviewed and may change after 31st December. Operator fees may still be applicable for some tickets.
