Zurbaran

Operated by Trasmediterranea on the Almeria Oran, Barcelona Ibiza, Barcelona Mahon, Barcelona Palma, Ibiza Palma & Mahon Palma routes

The Zurbarán is part of the vast Trasmediterranea fleet and can carry 589 passengers and 50 vehicles during crossings. The ship can reach speeds of 20.5 knots and with a width of 180 metres and breadth of 25 metres, you are sure to have a spacious and smooth journey.

The vessel offers many facilities to keep passengers entertained during the crossing including reclining seats, a self-service restaurant, a café and an onboard shop. There are also economy class cabins for those looking for a little bit of luxury and kennels for voyagers bringing their four legged travel companions.

Onboard Cabins / Reserved Seating

The Zurbarán features reclining standard class seats for all customers to use to relax in during their trip. However, for those who want that added indulgence, there is the option to upgrade to economy class cabin accommodation, including shower and bathroom facilities. Accommodation that’s situated in armchair collective economy class comes with television monitors for you to watch and enjoy whilst making the crossing.

Onboard Food and Drink

You can grab a bit to eat on the Zurbarán’s self-service restaurant, where you’ll find a wide range of dishes and a daily specials menu to choose from. You can then sit back and enjoy the rest of your trip while sipping a hot drink in the ship’s café, or if you fancy catching the rays or admiring the view, there’s always the outside bar. You’ll also find dispenser machines for snacks and sweets that you may use at any time.

Onboard Shopping

In the onboard shop there's a choice of newspapers, magazines, confectionery and some books and puzzles to help pass the crossing time. If you want a little more than that there’s also the chance to purchase holiday souvenirs, gifts or maybe just a treat to yourself.

Additional Onboard Facilities

Customers have the option to access exclusive enclosure for their pets. It includes an outdoor deck with air conditioning and walking area for pets. You can visit them throughout your journey. There is also a solarium and heliport on the Zurbarán.

Travelling with Children

This Trasmediterranea vessel caters for those travelling with young children. There is a designated diaper changing area onboard.

Accessibility

If assistance will be required onboard then it is advised to inform us prior to booking to make sure that your needs can be accommodated. Guide dogs travel free of charge.

Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Zurbaran guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

  • "Ibiza Barcelona ferry "

Great crossing, not a big ferry but very comfortable and clean. Enjoyed the deck area with the artificial grass! We travelled with a dog and it's great that you can have access to them throughout the crossing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend.

  • "Way better than I was expecting!"

My family and I travelled on the Barcelona - Palma - Barcelona route earlier this month and the whole thing was way better than we expected. The ferries were clean and well maintained. The cabin in particular was spotless and served us really well for the 7 hour crossing. Our only gripe would probably be the speed of service at the catering facilities but for 7 hour journey this is easy enough to remedy by bringing your own snacks etc.

  • "Med crossing from Ibiza to Mallorca"

My son and I took the 17.00hrs ferry to Mallorca last Saturday and were not looking forward to the long journey. However we found the deck at the rear of the ship offering sunbeds and seats, a bar which had music playing - made the journey and whole experience really enjoyable! The staff were very helpful, toilets were clean in fact the whole ship was great and I would highly recommend it!

  • "A nice crossing"

It was a very pleasant evening, lukewarm and a nice seabreeze while we were waiting to board the ferry. The boarding was fast and easy. We checked out the cabin and then went to the restaurant to get some dinner. We were among the first guests so we didn't have to queue at all. The food, 3 chicken drumsticks, salad and potatoes was very good. I bought a small bottle of red wine which made it even better. The night in the cabin was ok but it was hot when 3 people shared. We solved it by opening the cabin door and secure it with one of our luggages. The alighting in the morning was easy and simple. Thank you for a nice trip.

We both had a most comfortable crossing in both directions. We took advantage of having a cabin for both trips. The cabins were clean and comfortable, and we were very surprised as to the quality and choice of the lunch time menu....well done.

  • "Barcelona to Mahon overnight"

The overnight ferry crossing was fine, the accommodation was small but adequate and it was very nice to be able to have a shower. The only issue was the temperature, the cabin was very hot, a little bit of air conditioning would have made a huge difference.

  • "Cheap & practical"

I took the overnight ferry from Barcelona to Ibiza. This was ideal, as it meant travelling during the night, rather than wasting time during the day, and saved on hotel cost for a night. The ship was fine. I didnt use any facilities, or eat any food, so I cant comment on that. But it was clean, the chairs reclined a bit (although quite a few were broken and either stuck upright or in the reclining position). But the ship wasnt full, so I just took a set of two chairs (one upright, and one reclining), and tried to make myself as comfortable as possibly. It basically like sleeping on a plane, I dozed a bit, but woke up regularly. I recommend it as a cheap practical way to get to the island, but dont expect anything fancy.

  • "Why passengers from Barcelona are asked for a passport???"

A comfortable journey with polite people. What we don't understand is why passport numbers are required, without any other choice to buy the tickets on line for spanish people???

  • "ferry trip to Mahon"

I was very pleased with the facilities offered, the quality of the catering, and friendliness of staff. The ship was clean and the departure was punctual. Our arrival at the stunning port of Mahon was one of the highlights of our trip to Europe. As a foreigner, the only issue we had was that we were not aware that there were two terminals at Mallorca as there is no signage. As a result we were dropped off by taxi and mistakenly waited half an hour in a queue for people going to Ibiza.

  • "Congratulations one more time"

We had to interrupt our holidays because of private issues. However, the rapidity and the diligence with which my problem was treated are proof of the perfect efficiency of your service. The following morning, not even 24 hours after my call, we were able to get our inbound crossing (cabin + car). And it was all done without stress. Thanks again for this excellent work. Moreover, the website is easy to navigate and well explained. If there is a problem, you can call a friendly and professional staff who helps you to resolve it. The only setback is that it is impossible to book in advance and that there aren't enough night crossings.

  • "Night Trip in a Cabin is Quite Confortable."

The cabin price is highly worth it. The regular seats although can be booked are first come first serve and are as confy as airplane seats as well as loud, they have TV's all over the main salon. When traveling with kids the cabin is essential. Other than that the service was good, the food reasonable for a ship and I have always arrived exactly on time. The ship is mainly for cargo, so it's important that they arrive by 7am to deliver all the products to the super markets.
