Queenscliff Guide

The Australian town of Queenscliff lies on the Bellarine Peninsular in South Victoria and is a hark back to the past with its grand Victorian hotels and its key location at the entrance to Port Phillip. In the past visitors to the town would arrive by paddle steamer from Melbourne in order to take in the fresh coastal air. Today visitors to Queenscliff are still drawn in by the picturesque town and fresh air but the method of transport has changed. Instead of paddle steamer visitors usually arrive by car of by ferry. Wandering around the town, visitors can't fail to take in the town's history, with its grand architecture and many antique shops and galleries. The still operating steam railway adds to the classic feel, and grand dining rooms in historic hotels offer an opulence and elegant experience that is not common in today's modern, minimalist society.

There is a ferry service that operates between the Bellarine Peninsula and the Mornington Peninsula which operates on a daily basis all year round. The ferry crossing operates between Queenscliff and Sorrento and takes around 40 minutes.
