Pozzuoli Casamicciola Ferry reviews

  • "Smooth Cruise"

My husband and I travelled between Pozzuoli and Casamicciola on our trip to Ischia between 18.10.15 /24.10.15. We sat on deck for both trips as the weather was good. The ship was clean and the staff were efficient. Unloading and reloading took 30mins and the ship was spot on for timing with the journey lasting 1hour. We did not use the catering but would definitely rebook with Medmar and also recommend to friends. Our only regret was that Medmar was running a special offer with our hotel which we missed.

  • "Good service on board, bad organization at the boarding."

Good servicem and quite punctual. In the booking with the car you is written to go to do the check in 2 hours before. But they should say instead to go there only 1 hour before to do not be stuck in the landing of others ferries.

Pozzuoli Guide

Located on the Phlegrean Peninsular in the Province of Naples, in the Italian region of Campania is the city of Pozzuoli. The town's past is on display all across the city and reflects its importance during the Greek and Roman ages. This town is also known for the strange phenomenon called bradyseism: the volcanic activity, driven by the pressure of underground gases, make the town rise and fall in relation to the sea level.

There are many things to see and do in the city but perhaps the most popular attraction is the Macellum of Pozzuoli, which was a market building of the Roman colony of Pozzuoli. The building was discovered during excavations in the 18th century when a statue of Serapis was found. This originally led to the building being incorrectly identified as the Temple of Serapis. Another popular place in the city is its promenade which is the city's nightlife hub. The area has many bars, restaurants, pizzerias and clubs for visitors to enjoy.

Ferry services from the city's port depart to Ischia, Casamicciola and Procida.

Casamicciola Guide

Casamicciola is located on the north coast of the island of Ischia which is in Italy's Campania region, at the northern end of the Bay of Naples. The island, which is of volcanic origins, is within easy reach of Naples by both conventional ferry and hydrofoil. The island is popular with tourists for its sandy beaches, crystal clear sea and for its thermal springs which have had spa resorts built around them. The island seems to be especially popular with German tourists and as a consequence many of the island's signs and notices are also in German. The north coast towns such as Ischia Porto, Ischia Ponte, Casamicciola Terme, Forio and Lacco Ameno are the towns that most visitors head for. Of these, Ischia Porto boasts the best bars, Casamicciola the worst traffic and Ischia Ponte and Lacco Ameno the most appeal.

Hydrofoils and ferries make their way back and forth to mainland Italy in Naples from the pretty port of Casamicciola.
