After days of sunbathing and exploring the surrounding waters, many may long for a spot of culture and history; the town is steeped in beautiful architecture, most notably the Parco Nazionale Arcipelago Toscano Park which offers wonderful vistas among stunning structural designs. For an insight into the history of Portoferraio, several museums are dotted around to showcase the town’s rich past. Sunbathing and sightseeing can be an exhausting combination, so in the evening head to one of the fine restaurants to enjoy the delicious seafood served fresh from the waters.
