Odden Overview

Isefjord, Kattergat and Sejerø Bay are surrounding Sjællands Odde, and give the place an atmosphere of being a pleasant fishing area.

Experience the smokehouse, the little fishing boats, the dockyard, the fish sale and the anglers. The smokehouse is the sign of the world famous architect Arne Jacobsen.

This area covers several towns; Yderby, which is a little town with few houses and a windmill, Odden Port town with a little fishing port, and yderby Lyng, were you can find the daily groceries.

The south of the area has good beaches, while the north is more rocky, but you will find a few sand beaches there.

The landscape on Sjællands Odde is dominated by fields, cliffs and the sea views.

Transportation in Odden

By Car From most Danish cities and samller towns you can reach Odden via the good road network, on both major motorways or small roads with hardly any trafic.

Odden Attractions

Most of Sjællands Odde is surrounded by the sea and gives great opportunities for both the beach life and for those who enjoys fishing, with a coast side filled with beaches and several small fishing ports. The whole area has a wide range of museums and galleries. The Working Mill Museum, offers you the sight of the old craft, the impressive constructions and the beautifully decorated interior. Dragsholm Castle Park is a large park and has large, old and rare trees. Moreover a more than 100 years old Rhododendron Park, which is flowering in May/June, and the castle itself, which is the oldest secular building in Denmark, is open most days and worth a visit. North of Nykøbing S. - with af nice view of the Isefjord - the Anneberg Collections are situated. Here the largest private collection of antique glasses in Northern Europe is found. The collections are established by manufacturer J.C.Hempel. In 1990 the collections were enlarged by unique prospectus porcelain. This is only a small selection of the museums and galleries the area has to offer, and there is plenty to see for all tastes.
