Brittany Ferries doubles service to Spain

Following the success of the Portsmouth Santander ferry route, launched in March this year, Brittany Ferries is adding yet another luxury cruise-ferry to its fleet to provide travellers with an additional 2 round trips a week between these ports. This move will mean that from March 2010 the UK and Spain will be linked by a total of 4 Brittany Ferries passenger services every week: 3 from Portsmouth and 1 from Plymouth.

DFDS snaps up Norfolkline for $496m

AP Moller-Maersk is selling its European ro-pax ferry subsidiary Norfolkline to DFDS in a €347m ($496.3m) share and cash deal that sees Maersk take a 31% strategic stake in the ferry operator, which provides services in the Baltic and North Sea.

Irish Ferries has announced an early booking offer of a one-way fare - for car and driver - at just £69, 30 per cent less than scheduled fares for next year. To qualify, bookings must be made 21 days in advance of travel and before 31 January 2010.
