"DFDS wonderful, shame about Dover"
We were supposed to travel from Dover to Dunkirk, due to the shambles at Dover with the queues we missed the ferry, after being informed by staff it was no problem we would be checked in on time. we were then given a choice of one hour later going to Calais or waiting 2 hours and going to Dunkirk. We opted for the Calais sailing, this was then delayed by an hour! not sure who lacked the organisation on that day, but no apology or information was given to the general public. The ship was clean and plenty of space for sitting, also off loaded quickly. return journey from Dunkirk to Dover was seamless, on time check in easy. Ship was clean and efficient. Would use DFDS again, except maybe avoid Dover to sail from, unless the port authority get their act together.

"Sea view lounge not worth the extra money, And don't arrive at Dunkirk hungry"
Let me preclude this review by stating that I was very happy with DFDS, they put us on an earlier sailing when we showed up early for both sailings and the facilities and state of the ferry were generally excellent. I recently travelled on DFDS from Dover to Dunkirk with my son. It was our first time on this ferry and being excited about the travel and the view I book the Seaview Lounge so that my son and I could enjoy the view on our trip. Sadly the Seaview lounge has a very poor view of the sea through dirty side viewing windows, not the forward or even backward facing large windowed lounge I had expected based on the name. In fact main restaurant at the front of the ferry has a much better view and you don't pay extra for that. Apart from the poor view and rather uncomfortable leather arm chairs the free juice and pastries were welcomed, however, they were not enough to keep us stuck in the small lounge and instead we spent most of our journey exploring the rest of the ship. Summary: don't pay extra for the Seaview lounge, it doesn't really have a great sea view and the lounging wasn't very comfortable. Also, on the way over we noticed that there were restaurants at the Dover ferry terminal, so upon our return we presumed there would be similar facilities at the Dunkirk side. Sadly we were sorely mistaken and arrived there hungry, only to find candy and drink vending machines. Luckily we had a few snacks in our car to tide us over.

Booked at short notice and decided to avoid Calais so this was a good option. Got there is good time and parked near front. Only real compIaint was that one of last to board and position so one of last to disembark. Boat was clean, need a bigger kids area but for two hour crossing ok.
