The home of mighty FC Metalist Kharkiv, the stadium was built in 1925 and was for a long time known as Traktor, on account of being sponsored by the local tractor production plant, but it has now been extensively modernised. Sadly, Shevchenko Park is named after the father of Ukrainian literature, not the great striker.
